Key 2024 Monday Night Football Matchups

Week 1: New York Jets @ San Francisco 49ers

The Jets are this year’s wild card team, with flashy free agency signings trying to augment Aaron Rodgers’ aging body. With the Jets trying to integrate so many new pieces, there could be a substantial adjustment period. Throw in the Niners’ oppressive pass rush, and this could be painful for Rodgers.

On the other side, unless the Niners trade Deebo or Aiyuk before the season, the Niners are running essentially the same offense as 2023. They should be able to score at will, even with the Jets’ new signings. Unless Aaron can roll back the clock to 2021, the Niners should roll.

Week 6: Buffalo Bills at New York Jets

On Columbus Day, Rodgers and the Jets host Josh Allen and the Bills on MNF. The Buffalo offense will look different this year, with Stefon Diggs shipped off to Houston and Keon Coleman selected to replace him as the first pick in Round 2 of the NFL draft.

Despite Rodgers’ Achilles injury last year, the Jets defeated the Bills in Week 1 by a score of 22-16. This is the first inner-division clash on MNF of the 2024 season.

Week 10: Miami Dolphins at Los Angeles Rams

On Veteran’s Day, two of the league’s most high-octane offenses square off. Tyreek Hill, the favorite to win OPOY , visits Puka Nacua and the Rams.

The Los Angeles defense looks incredibly different this year with Aaron Donald retired, but the team selected edge rusher Jared Verse and his teammate at FSU, Braden Fiske, to bolster the line.

Week 12: Baltimore Ravens at Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers and Ravens will play in a Week 12 tilt on MNF at SoFI Stadium. This Harbaugh Bowl will surely be electric, as the two brothers haven’t faced off since John’s Ravens beat Jim’s 49ers in Super Bowl 47. That said, the Chargers’ offense looks different this year without Keenan Allen or Mike Williams in the fold.

Week 15: Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings

For the sixth time since 2016, the Bears and Vikings will meet on Monday Night Football. Hopes are high in Chicago as Caleb Williams has some of the most lethal offensive weapons in the league with Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze added to the mix. That said J.J. McCarthy arrives in Minnesota with Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, T.J. Hockenson, and one of the best offensive play callers in the league in Kevin O’Connell.

Week 17: Detroit Lions at San Francisco 49ers

In a rematch of last year’s NFC Championship Game, the Lions visit the 49ers eyeing revenge just two days before Christmas. San Francisco rallied from 17 points down to beat the Lions 34-31 and advance to the Super Bowl.
