With the Chiefs having one of the league’s tougher schedules, and that’s no surprise in a talent-rich division and coming off a Super Bowl victory. Most expected a marquee name like the Bills, Chargers or Eagles to serve as the season-opening opponent.

Chiefs Season Outlook

A young secondary showed tremendous promise, and the Chiefs worked to shore up the pass rush. A defense that performed poorly at times should be stronger.
The main questions for Mahomes & Co. will revolve around the revamped offensive line and an unproven pass-catching corps.
While the interior should be among the league’s best, the Chiefs replaced both starting offensive tackles. Free-agent acquisition Jawaan Taylor should bring competence at the very least on the right side. Donovan Smith, however, enters as the presumptive starter at left tackle. Once a solid player, he endured a disastrous, penalty-filled 2022.
As far as pass catchers go, Travis Kelce continued to showcase an incredibly high level of play. However, entering his age-34 season, his days as an elite tight end may be numbered.
The Chiefs are counting on Kadarius Toney for a bigger role, as well as a step forward from second-year man Skyy Moore. They also spent a high pick on SMU product Rashee Rice.
