It's finally time for the NFL playoffs to begin, and we have a couple of incredible matchups from the NFC to kick things off. It's the Carolina Panthers hosting the Los Angeles Rams, followed by one of football's biggest rivalries: The Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers, from Soldier Field.

For Carolina, this marks their first trip to the postseason since 2017, where they look for their first playoff win in 10 years. However, they face off against the Rams, a true Super Bowl contender, making the Panthers a double-digit underdog on all sportsbooks, even though they're at home.

In the other Wild Card matchup, the Bears and the Packers meet for the third time this season. The weather forecast is calling for some classic snowy, windy weather in Chicago tonight, which could have a major effect on the game. Both teams will want to call themselves contenders if they can get past their NFC North rivals.

It's only the third time that the Bears and Packers have ever met in the postseason, with the first matchup coming all the way back in 1941. Everybody remembers the second matchup, the 2011 NFC Championship game, when the Packers beat the Bears 21-14.

Here are the best bets for Saturday. Make sure you browse all of our favorite sports betting apps and take advantage of all of the latest sportsbook promos.

Rams-Panthers Over 45.5 (-114)

Regardless of the score line, we think this game is going to produce a lot of points. The Rams have been the highest-scoring team in football, scoring over 30 points a game, while Carolina's defense is average, at best. The Rams will get Davante Adams back, who led the NFL with 14 receiving touchdowns despite only playing 14 games this season.

One major question we have is whether or not the Panthers' offense will show up. We'll generally know by their second possession of the game whether they're going to come up with a dud or not. While it's extremely encouraging that the Panthers were 5-3 at home this season, they don't produce many big plays on offense, and will need to do so to have a chance to knock off the Rams.

Rams -10.5 (-110)

🏈Odds via FanDuel📈

The biggest discrepancies on paper i are in the red zone and on third down.

The Rams possess the third-best red-zone defense in all of football, while the Carolina offense is only 24th in red-zone offense. On the other side, the Rams red-zone offense is seventh in the NFL, while the Carolina defense ranks 14th.

While both teams are in the bottom half of the league in third-down offense (Rams 17th, Panthers 25th), the Rams rank 7th in red-zone defense, while the Panthers are 31st. This is looking like a rout on paper.

Packers-Bears Under 44.5 (-105)

🏈Odds via FanDuel📈

We're expecting nasty weather conditions in a game between Jordan Love, who has been out for the last two weeks, and the Chicago Bears, who love to run the ball down the throat of their opponents. The wind chill could be below 10 degrees, and the wind gusts will be over 40 miles per hour. It's going to be ugly January football that will make for incredible viewing, but not a lot of points.

Bears ML (+110)

🏈Odds via DraftKings📈

We're going to keep it extremely simple: Whoever has the best running game should win the game tonight.

The Bears' two-headed running back monster in D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai has outperformed Josh Jacobs and Emanuel Wilson in recent weeks. Jacobs was on a tear before his knee injury, and has only found paydirt twice in the last six weeks. Last time in Chicago, Jacobs was held to just 36 yards on 12 carries.

We love a low-scoring duel with the Bears coming out on top.

Predictions

Los Angeles Rams 38-17 Carolina Panthers

Chicago Bears 14-10 Green Bay Packers
