Eagles At Giants SGP Strategy
Pretty much across the board, the Eagles look like a much better team than the Giants. They’re quite a bit healthier too, with the Giants still having a beat-up secondary, offensive line and defensive backfield. Particularly on defense, the losses of Adoree’ Jackson and Leonard Williams loom large if indeed they wind up missing this game.
Perhaps in response to that, the line has crept up past -7 in some cases. I happen to agree with the move, so given that, we can sell this out to Eagles -9.5 and get plus money.
The Giants have fallen into a negative script in several recent games. As the rushing production of Saquon Barkley has fallen off due to the banged-up line’s inability to open holes, the passing attempts of Daniel Jones have trended up. Jones has fired 30+ pass attempts in five of the past six. That may be even more likely with Barkley hurt — he’s reportedly questionable with a neck injury.
Finally, many of these Eagles wins have seen a majority of the scoring in the first half. The team tends to sit on the ball with the lead, as one can see in their splits on scoring:

- Second half: 9.3 (25th)
If the Eagles get out to a big lead, expect the second half to become a bit of a snoozer pretty often.
