Leg 1: Trust Ravens’ Defense?

Make no mistake. Mike Macdonald’s unit is one of the league’s stingiest groups since acquiring ex-Bears linebacker Roquan Smith ahead of Week 9. From that game onward, the Ravens have surrendered the fifth-fewest EPA per play.

They’ve stood out even more against the run, notching the second-best DVOA rating in that department (per Football Outsiders). For context, they ranked No. 22 before the All-Pro playmaker joined their roster.

Baltimore’s defensive refinement played into the Bengals’ offensive woes during their Week 18 matchup, especially on the ground. They tallied the fifth-fewest EPA per carry, as Joe Mixon was bottled up for a mere 2.5 yards per rush.

Considering fellow Cincinnati tailback Samaje Perine is also notching a 40.5% snap rate, Mixon’s workload will continue to be eaten into. Therefore, his rushing yards prop () is where I’ll go for my first leg of the NFL same game parlay.

Leg 2: Ravens To Cover The Spread

This bet correlates with the notion that the Ravens’ defense should allow them to hang around in this game. I’m banking on an elite coaching staff — led by John Harbaugh — to make necessary adjustments on both sides of the ball after just facing the same opponent, too.

If you’re into betting trends, teams on a winning streak of eight or more games have gone 9-22 (29.0%) against the spread in the NFL playoffs. It has plenty to do with the betting market inflating those lines. Cincinnati could wind up dragging that percentage down even further.

This NFL same game parlay — with Ravens +9.5 and Mixon under 59.5 rushing yards — showcases +175 odds at DraftKings Sportsbook. But check your other sportsbooks. SGP odds vary greatly sometimes. Good luck with the rest of your Wild Card Weekend wagers.
