Where’s The Action?

Over at BetMGM Sportsbook, 71% of the spread handle is on the Eagles — juxtaposed to just 51% of the tickets. This line dipped as low as Philadelphia -1.5 last week before sharp bettors came back on the home favorite, bumping it up to .

Regarding the total (), 60% of the tickets are on the over while 51% of the handle is on the under. It was bet up to 51.5 before sinking the other way in recent days.

Unsurprisingly, a pair of the most bet props revolve around Vikings wideout Justin Jefferson, involving him to score the game’s first touchdown (+650) or generate an anytime TD (-120).

Should you include any of those markets for your SGP? For the record, this wager won’t be on my betting card, but the markets correlate with one another.

Potential Same Game Parlay

Allow the majority of bettors to gravitate towards the most bet name to win 2022 Offensive Player of the Year. Instead, hone in on fellow wide receiver Adam Thielen, who only tallied three grabs (via four targets) and 36 yards in the Vikings’ Week 1 win over the Packers.

The Lions excelled on the ground in their matchup against the Eagles, accruing the third-highest rushing EPA. They were particularly successful out of formations that employed 11 personnel (three wide receivers, tight end, running back).

Now, Minnesota’s interior offensive line could certainly struggle against Philadelphia’s superior defensive front — despite the presence of Pro Bowl tailback Dalvin Cook. However, Kevin O’Connell ran 11 personnel on 64% of Minnesota’s Week 1 snaps, which was anticipated after his days on the Rams’ staff. If the Vikings aren’t forced into a negative game script earlier than expected, a similar opening could unfold.

Hence, Kirk Cousins would be presented with his fair share of of play-action passing opportunities versus Jonathan Gannon’s deep zone coverage scheme. The aforementioned Jefferson lit up Green Bay’s similar set-up, but anticipate Philly is generally more willing to rotate safety help over to take away explosive plays.

That should provide more looks for Thielen, who delivered a predictable 93.1% snap share in Week 1. Let’s go with Theilen over 54.5 receiving yards while supplying an anytime TD. The most valuable price tag for that SGP is +340 on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Should Minnesota dig itself into a double-digit hole in the second half, more passing downs would aid Theilen’s cause, too.
