How To Watch NFL RedZone In 2021: YouTube TV, FuboTV, Or Cable?

Written By Staff on September 19, 2021

Sundays in the fall are extremely fun but often chaotic for sports bettors and fantasy football owners in the fall. NFL RedZone was thankfully born in 2009, however, lessening the burden on pro football channel surfers. The NFL RedZone channel jumps from game to game during the 1 p.m. ET and 4 p.m. ET TV windows, keeping viewers abreast to each touchdown and big play.

There are many ways in which you can watch NFL RedZone, most notably through DirecTV – which has had the NFL Sunday Ticket package for years. DirecTV is rewarding some of its longtime customers in 2021 with a free NFL Sunday Ticket package that will feature the NFL RedZone channel. Most folks, though, will have to pay a pretty penny in the form of $293.94 per season for the whole pigskin enchilada.

How to watch NFL RedZone

RedZone is offered through a variety of outlets currently and starts off as low as just $5 per month through the NFL app, but that option restricts viewing to just your smartphone. In order to watch this option on your TV or laptop, AirPlay may be an option, but your phone will be useless and you have to have compatible devices. FuboTV offers RedZone at $64 monthly after a seven day trial to start; it’s not the most cost-efficient means.

Several cable and streaming providers also allow a subscription to RedZone for an added fee, including:

  • Cox
  • Hulu
  • YouTubeTV
  • DirecTV
  • fios
  • Optimum
  • Spectrum
  • Xfinity

DirecTV holds exclusive rights to the NFL Sunday Ticket, which offers access to all out of market games as well as RedZone, but that will set you back nearly $300 a season. All other cable outlets allow subscriptions to RedZone through extended packages ranging from $50 to $150.

When it comes to ease of use, access, and price, YouTubeTV or Hulu seems to be the way to go for NFL RedZone this coming season. A base YouTubeTV subscription starts at $65 monthly, so the Sports Plus package puts you at $76 monthly– far below a cable subscription and RedZone package.

What is NFL RedZone?

Sunday afternoons flipping between four channels to watch all of the games going on is one of the best ways to spend an afternoon, period; especially if you play fantasy football or have a string of bets to keep up with. However, the age-old method is a recipe for missing the most exciting plays of each game and, unless you have four TVs set up in your den, you’re likely to remain guessing on highlights until halftime. That is, unless you subscribe to NFL RedZone.

The service expedites game watching and buzzes through highlights, touchdowns, and scores. When a game gets close, a team is about to score, or a game is in overtime, host Scott Hanson brings you to that game to watch. It’s an excellent resource for sports bettors and fantasy football players and keeps you completely in the loop with every ongoing game.
