Three Most Bet Teams To Make The Playoffs

According to BetMGM, the sportsbook has taken the most action on these three teams to reach the postseason. We’ve added their current best available odds to make the playoffs across legal sportsbooks in parentheses:

The Lions action is a head scratcher. Perhaps some excited casual fans in Michigan wanting to get some action down. This team looks like it will contend more for the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft more than the postseason. More on the Broncos and WFT below.

Three Most Bet Teams To Miss The Playoffs

According to BetMGM, the sportsbook has taken the most action on these three teams to miss the postseason. We’ve added their current BetMGM odds to miss the playoffs in parentheses:

It’s easy to see why the Colts made this list after starting quarterback Carson Wentz suffered a foot injury in training camp. As for the Cowboys, there are both major question marks with their defense, as well as a new shoulder injury with Dak Prescott from training camp, the severity of which is unknown. Prescott did return to practice, but some retired quarterbacks did say it is an injury that could linger this season. In New Orleans, the Saints lost Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees to retirement and had one of the biggest drops from 2020 wins to 2021 win total projection.

Three Biggest Line Movements Since Market Open

According to BetMGM, the sportsbook has moved the line most on these three teams’ postseason props:

  • Denver Broncos to make playoffs: opened +275, now +130
  • Washington Football Team to make playoffs: opened +185, now +120
  • Indianapolis Colts to miss playoffs: opened +165, now -110

We mentioned the reason for the Colts move above, as the Wentz injury had bettors and oddsmakers scrambling. It’s possible the 2021 NFL playoffs odds movement on the Broncos came earlier this offseason amidst rumors and speculation that they could be trading for Aaron Rodgers or Deshaun Watson. Those rumors have faded, but money already booked could be dictating the drop in price for Denver to make the playoffs. The Washington Football Team won the NFC East last season. Considering how dismal the division is and how unlikely it is for two teams to make the playoffs, bettors would be wise to take the WFT to win the NFC East at instead of the +130 to make the playoffs.
