nfl Same game parlay STRATEGY

The key to long-term profitability in SGP betting is correlation. Getting the broad story of a game correct makes it easier to hit a parlay, as you’re not cheering for disparate and potentially even contradictory things to happen. When reviewing winning SGP tickets, we can think backward and determine what game-script ideas and correlations went into constructing the parlay.

Colts RB Zack Moss Props

Moss is set up for success in this matchup as the Colts’ lead back and playing as a 2.5-point home favorite. With the absence of fellow RB Jonathan Taylor, Moss’s role becomes even more critical. As the primary RB for the Colts in the last two games, Moss’s involvement has been substantial:

  • Played 121 of 132 snaps (92%)
  • Handled 32 of 35 RB carries (91%)
  • Ran 63 routes on 90 Gardner Minshew dropbacks (70% route participation)
  • Received nine carries inside the 10-yard line

Turning our attention to the matchup against Pittsburgh, the Steelers defense presents an opportune scenario. They have conceded the eighth-most rushing attempts and the ninth-most yards to opposing RBs in 2023.

Moreover, running backs have recently found notable scoring success against the Steelers, with four RB touchdowns over their last four games. Additionally, several key players on the Steelers’ defense are questionable for this game. These factors collectively set the stage for Moss to break through in this Saturday afternoon showdown.

Mitch Trubisky Over Rushing Yards

In his inaugural start of the season last week, Trubisky showcased his dual-threat capabilities by adding 30 yards and a touchdown on the ground. While he’s not typically recognized as a conventional running quarterback, the former University of North Carolina standout has more scrambling ability than is often acknowledged.

His upcoming matchup against the Colts is particularly favorable for his rushing potential. This season, Indianapolis has surrendered the league’s fifth-most rushing yards and the second-most rushing touchdowns to opposing quarterbacks. Trubisky’s clear willingness to scramble and the Colts’ vulnerability in this area set the stage for another successful rushing performance.

Under Total Points

Pittsburgh is operating at one of the league’s slowest paces in 2023. They have maintained the third-slowest pace in the league over the last month. Consequently, Pittsburgh’s games have produced the eighth-fewest combined snaps and the third-fewest total plays. This trend has intensified over the past four weeks.

Since Kenny Pickett’s injury, the Steelers have situation-neutral pass rates of just 35% (the lowest in Week 13) and 47% (fifth-lowest in Week 14).

The Steelers rank in the bottom six both in points scored and allowed on a per-play basis. Notably, Pittsburgh’s games lean 10-3 towards the under, tying for the highest rate in the league.

In terms of the Colts’ pace of play, Indianapolis hasn’t been as effective in driving pace and play volume as earlier this season. Post their Week 11 bye, Colts games have seen an average of 126 combined overtime-adjusted plays, a significant drop from leading the league.

The Colts defense is facing the second-highest opponent run rate, which slows their games down. The Steelers will likely exploit this by adopting a ground-focused, slow-paced approach.
