NFL Odds: Eagles, Hurts MVP Futures On The Move

Super Bowl (+4400 to +3500):

Over at FanDuel Sportsbook, oddsmakers were quick to drop Eagles Super Bowl odds of winning their second title in the last six seasons. But it’s not as big of a dip as you may initially think.

Pre-draft, the Eagles held a 2.22% chance of winning Super Bowl LVII. Following the addition of the ex-Titans wide receiver, their odds rose to 2.78%. That’s a whole 0.56 percentage points!

Still, Brown undoubtedly represents a major boost to Philly’s receiving core, considering he generated a pair of 1,000-plus-yard seasons in Tennessee’s run-heavy offense. Pairing Brown with fellow wideout Devonta Smith gifts the Eagles with one of the league’s premier receiving duos, too.

Roseman & Co. also beefed up their defensive line, adding Georgia product Jordan Davis with the No. 13 overall pick. The 6-foot-6, 340-pound nose tackle is considered to be the top-tier rookie at his position, and he’ll certainly provide another backfield clogger for an already sound front-seven. Over his last two seasons with the Bulldogs, he tallied the SEC’s premier run defense grade.

Jalen Hurts MVP (+5000 to +2500):

At FanDuel, Hurts saw his NFL MVP odds shrink as well. It adjusted to a 3.85% chance of him winning the award — an increase of 1.89 percentage points.

With the Eagles’ offense possessing plenty of weapons, especially after acquiring Brown, the pressure will be on Hurts improve his precision. He was the sixth-least accurate quarterback across the NFL in the 2021-22 campaign, sitting ahead of only Zach Wilson, Justin Fields, Trevor Lawrence, Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield.

Nevertheless, Hurts accrued the fifth-highest percentage of dropbacks with zero pass-catchers considered to be open (via Pro Football Focus).

He may take a step in the right direction next season, and his best available NFL odds are .
