This is a rare spot where bettors can get a good number no matter which side they like. The NFL injury report figures to heavily influence where this might settle. Buffalo, already snakebitten with defensive injuries, experienced yet more attrition against Pittsburgh. Keep an eye on how that develops.

NFL Divisional Spreads Near Key Number of 7

Buccaneers At Lions

This number opened with Lions odds at -5.5 after the stirring home win over the Rams. Surprisingly, despite the Buccaneers absolutely thrashing the defending NFC champs, sharp action has backed the Lions early. Similar to the Chiefs, whether this proves a head fake to help get a bigger bet down on a good number the other way remains to be seen. But whatever the case, the Lions ticked up to -6 immediately and have since inched to -6.5 in most spots.

That leaves Buccaneers odds just shy of the key number. Will it get there?

When these two teams met early in the season, the Lions crushed the Bucs in Tampa. The 20-6 final fairly reflects a dominant showing by Detroit. The Bucs couldn’t stop Detroit through the air, allowing 7.2 YPA dropping back.

Still, there doesn’t appear to be a ton of market faith in the Lions. Sharps bet heavily against them in the wild-card round. It would be a surprise to see this reach the key number. But it may be worth waiting for if you like the Bucs, considering the alternative is probably still a +6.
