NFL injuries continue to pile up as we make our way through the back half of the season. These injuries are already shifting odds at the best sports betting sites. Several big-name starters are forcing handicappers to monitor for news before betting Week 13 odds. These key starters are in jeopardy of missing at least one week after sustaining injuries in Week 12. The most notable players injured this past week, unfortunately, all come from the same squad as Browns QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson, WR Amari Cooper, and DE Myles Garrett went down.

Here’s a roundup of the most notable NFL injuries to monitor before Week 13.

Cleveland Browns

  • QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson
  • WR Amari Cooper
  • DE Myles Garrett

Thompson-Robinson took a brutal, questionable hit from Broncos linebacker Baron Browning late in the third quarter. He was taken to the locker room, and the team later announced that the rookie QB was in the concussion protocol. Head coach Kevin Stefanski was only willing to say that the team would work through the quarterback position based on DTR’s health and his progression through concussion protocol. P.J. Walker came in to replace Thompson-Robinson. While Joe Flacco was signed to the practice squad earlier this week, he was not elevated to the gameday roster. But now, it seems likely Flacco will have to get ready to be available for next week’s game against the Rams.

HC Kevin Stefanski said Myles Garrett’s shoulder scans showed no structural damage, and he’s just sore. He’ll be ready for the game if he can play through the soreness. Cooper’s x-rays were negative, suggesting his injured rib wasn’t broken.

Houston Texans

  • G Tytus Howard

Following his injury sustained in Sunday’s loss to the Jaguars, Howard is set to receive scans on his left knee, reports indicated on Sunday. Howard, a 2019 first-round pick, went down with the injury with about 20 seconds remaining in the first quarter. He was initially listed as questionable to return before being downgraded to “out” for the remainder of the game.

Jacksonville Jaguars

  • OT Cam Robinson

Robinson suffered a knee injury on Sunday, and he has 3-6 weeks to recover, according to reports. That makes him an Injured Reserve candidate, but barring a setback, he is expected back for the playoffs. On the field, the Jaguars are incredibly fortunate to have their depth in swing tackle Walker Little and recently acquired Ezra Cleveland at left guard.

New Orleans Saints

  • WR Chris Olave
  • WR Rashid Shaheed
  • DE Cameron Jordan

Olave exited Sunday’s game with a head injury and has officially been placed in the league’s concussion protocol. Shaheed left with a quad injury in the second quarter and didn’t return. Shaheed was initially listed as questionable, then downgraded to doubtful in the second half. This is on top of Michael Thomas already being on IR.

Coach Dennis Allen said Jordan suffered an ankle injury in Sunday’s 24-15 loss to the Falcons. It’s unclear if the ailment could cause the Saints defensive end to miss time. But the injury forced him out of the Falcons game late, and he did not return. “They’re still evaluating some of these guys,” Allen said.

Philadelphia Eagles

  • DT Fletcher Cox
  • LB Zach Cunningham

Cox was sidelined against the Bills on Sunday in the second quarter. Cox was slow to get up but could leave the field under his own power before ultimately going to the locker room. He was strolling back to the tunnel. The Eagles are typically pretty deep along the defensive line, but Milton Williams is out this week after suffering a concussion against the Chiefs, and the team released Derek Barnett earlier in the week.

Eagles HC Nick Sirianni spoke on Cunningham’s injury: “Zach will do everything in his power to play. He is important to our defense and team. I hope he is ready to go”. No timetable was given for when either player could return to the field.
