OTHER WEEK 3 NOTABLE PLAYER NEWS
Aside from the key NFL injuries, there were various player usage notes to take into account for the Week 4 evaluation.
Baltimore Ravens
Zay Flowers has a 5.0-yard aDOT, the fifth-shortest among all WRs through three weeks. Flowers currently has a 30% target share and 25% targets per route run.
Chicago Bears
The Bears’ ugly start to the season got even uglier in their blowout loss to the Chiefs in Week 3. At least they started to play into their QBs strength calling seven designed runs on 55 Justin Fields snaps. Fields had a total of five designed runs in Weeks 1 and 2 combined.
Detroit Lions
In his first game without David Montgomery (quad), Jahmyr Gibbs saw a sizable workload handling 71% of the RB carries, but only saw a 6% target share
Indianapolis Colts
Colts RB snaps last two games that have been both wins: Zack Moss 80, Trey Sermon 18, everyone else 0. It seems like Indy has found its starter in Moss.
Jacksonville Jaguars
It still appears the Jags prefer Tank Bigsby at the goal line. Carries from inside the 10-yard line this season:
- Tank Bigsby 3
- Trevor Lawrence 1
- Travis Etienne 0
- D’Ernest Johnson 0
Los Angeles Chargers
Chargers WR routes after Mike Williams (knee) was carted off in the third quarter (10 dropbacks).
- Keenan Allen 10
- Joshua Palmer 10
- Quentin Johnston 3
- Derius Davis 1
Miami Dolphins
Early MVP favorite Tua Tagovailoa through Week 3 of this season.
- 1st in yards per attempt (10.1)
- 1st in passer rating (121.9)
- 6th in completion percentage (71.3)
- 1st in PFF QB grades
- 3 wins, 0 losses
Las Vegas Raiders
Davante Adams, Jakobi Meyers, and Josh Jacobs have played two games together this year. In those contests, they’ve combined for 95 of the offense’s 107 opportunities. Raiders HC Josh McDaniels seems to be making it clear which starters will be getting the majority of opportunities on this offense.
Washington Commanders
It may officially be the time for concern over the Commanders’ poor offensive line play. The NFL record for sacks taken in a season is 76, set by David Carr. Sam Howell has taken 19 sacks in three games this year, putting him on pace to take 107.
