Chiefs Anytime Touchdown Scorer Strategy
The Chiefs are favorites, and the game carries a -point over/under. Implied team totals make the expected final score: Chiefs 27, Dolphins 25. That means we should expect three touchdowns from the Chiefs.
This is an attractive game for touchdown odds bets in general because the distribution of scoring outcomes has a pretty decent thickness on the long right-hand tail. That is, this game could end in the 60s or 70s, depending partially on how NFL weather shakes out for the week.
Chiefs ATTD Scorer Bets
RB Isiah Pacheco ()
Miami offers a nice matchup here in a couple of senses, one being they’re among the least effective defenses at stopping the run. They rank in the bottom few teams in EPA/play allowed there.
Vic Fangio prefers to avoid blitzing at a heavy rate, meaning the Chiefs should see their fair share of light boxes here. That’s when the team typically likes to lean on Pacheco and the running game.
With Pacheco the clear favorite RB in the red zone, he’s in a good spot but still offers plus-money odds.
I also like that we get a chance to buy low here after a game in which he played only about half of the snaps due to the Chiefs playing catch-up for the entire second half.
WR Skyy Moore ()
Speaking of buying low, few players in the entire NFL have a lower stock than Skyy Moore. After another embarrassing drop, this time in the end zone, discussion around Moore on NFL social media has revolved around how poorly the Chiefs have constructed their wide receiver corps.
In these spots, I think teams sometimes slant the playbook a bit toward the beleaguered player, hoping to rebuild his confidence. Certainly, quotes from Patrick Mahomes after the game suggested Moore will continue to get plenty of work.
Consider also that despite several Chiefs receivers being in the same ballpark price-wise, Moore played among the most snaps of the bunch at around 55%. I’d rather take my chances on Moore than Kadarius Toney, who has seen his snap share drop precipitously.
Best of luck with your NFL anytime touchdown bets.
