Jaxson Dart: Draft Position Under 24.5 (-105)
These odds are available as of Thursday evening. Other operators have shortened Dart’s draft position by a few spots, so I’ll take this number, even while laying some juice. At 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds, Dart’s draft profile is similar to that of Broncos quarterback Bo Nix, mainly due to Dart’s gaudy arm talent and mobility. Last year, Denver traded up to snag Nix, and the same scenario wouldn’t surprise me regarding Dart.
Dart and fellow signal-caller Shadeur Sanders are expected to land in the first round, but there are seemingly more concerns around Sanders. In fact, Dart has been rumored to go as high as ninth overall to New Orleans.
“If it is a quarterback, again, this could be another curveball,” NFL insider Albert Breer said on his show. “I’ve heard they’ve (the Saints) done a ton of work on Jaxson Dart, the Ole Miss quarterback.”
As a senior with the Rebels, Dart finished atop college football in completion rate (73.5%), off-target rate (4.1%), sack rate (2.0%), and second-best in yards per attempt (5.0) in the red zone. I expect him to hear his name called before the Texans pick at No. 25 overall.
However, with the news that Dart won’t attend the NFL draft, let’s wait and see if this number fluctuates.
