The NFL Divisional Playoffs kick off today with two of the four weekend contests. 2022 NFL Divisional odds follow an exciting Wild Card Weekend in which “betting numbers were insane,” according to FanDuel Sportsbook. Director of Trading John Sheeran also pointed out that New York sports betting saw an unprecedented amount of online activity.

2022 NFL Divisional odds have also made history. ESPN reports that this is the first time since 1971 that for all four contests have spreads of six points or fewer.

TheLines reached out to the leading online sportsbooks to provide the betting splits and handle, and we’ve included a market report and betting data with updates as of Friday evening. Check out the sportsbook director’s comments, and also track the Divisional Round line movement ahead of each game.

NFL DIVISIONAL Odds And Oddsmaker Insights

Titans vs. Bengals

The Tennessee Titans are a  home favorite over the Cincinnati Bengals, and the over/under is set at . The Titans opened -2.5 at FanDuel Sportsbook and went to -3 before settling at -3.5.

The adjustment was “more of a market move, than our confidence in Tennessee,” said FanDuel’s John Sheeran. “The Titans are difficult to evaluate,” Sheeran said noting Tennessee is returning to better health overall, and RB Derrick Henry is back in action for the first time since Week 8 when he suffered a fractured foot.

“Barring a lot of big bets, I think we’ll have balanced action on all the games,” said Adam Pullen, Assistant Director of Trading at Caesars Sportsbook.

Caesars reports the Titans hold just a slight edge in both total number of tickets (54%) and total dollars wagered (56%) among all spread bets against the Bengals, as of Friday.

“It’s rare for the sharps to be on the favorite and a lot of the public to be on the underdog in a playoff game,” Pullen said. “There’s just a lot of hype over the Bengals.”

Packers vs. 49ers

Coming off last weekend’s upset as the only underdog to cover the point spread and win outright, the surging San Francisco 49ers head to Lambeau Field, where the Green Bay Packers went 8-0 during the regular season as the only undefeated team at home. The Packers are a favorite, but opened -4.5 with an over/under of at FanDuel Sportsbook. Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is 0-3 against San Francisco in his postseason career, and Green Bay is the favorite to win the Super Bowl, currently at .

“Informational value is huge from our perspective,” Sheeran said. “We want to get these lines up as early as we possibly can.”

FanDuel posted the line without knowing the severity of 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo’s shoulder injury, or status of DE Nick Bosa and LB Fred Warner. The line moved to -6 with public demand and has since settled at -5.5.

“We’re seeing in the ratio of 4-1 to 5-1 money and tickets on both the spread and moneyline for the Green Bay Packers,” Sheeran said. “We have these teams very closely rated.”

Follow the updates on player status and practice reports as line movement continues.

“I see this line moving quickly once Bosa is ruled in,” Sheeran adds about FanDuel’s aggressive position to adjusting the number again towards San Francisco. However, that happened yesterday and is still at -5.5 as of Saturday morning.

Green Bay is the most popular bet (80%), and the Packers were taking the most money (82%), as of Friday at BetMGM.

Green Bay is also the most bet team of the weekend at DraftKings Sportsbook. Through Friday, the Packers were taking 72% of the spread bets and 75% of the spread money.

BetRivers reports the Packers are by far the most popular bet with 67% of the spread handle and 78% of the moneyline.

WynnBet is writing the most tickets on the popular Packers with 68% of the bets and 65% of the spread handle on Green Bay entering the weekend.

Before game day wagers, Green Bay has secured 75% of the total number of tickets and 61% of the total dollars wagered at Caesars Sportsbook for spread bets. Caesars took some big bets last weekend, and one Nevada bettor thinks the underdog can stay inside the number, staking $220,000 on 49ers +6 (-110) for potential winnings of $200,000.

Buccaneers vs. Rams

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers sit at vs. the Los Angeles Rams after opening -2.5. The game has a total of , after opening at 48.

“It feels like a game with an overreaction to the performance of the Rams on Monday night.” Sheeran says he sees value in Tampa Bay, but “we did see professional money (on Los Angeles) at +3,”

The status of right tackle Tristan Wirfs (ankle) is key for the Buccaneers, who are 8-1 at home while the Rams are 7-2 on the road.

“We got some sharp money on the Rams,” WynnBet sports trader Alan Berg said. WynnBet is currently dealing Buccaneers -2.5 (-120). “Early action a bit on the over,” Berg adds with WynnBet now down to 47.5 on the game total.

Tampa Bay has attracted 56% of the total number of tickets at Caesars Sportsbook, whereas Los Angeles was taking 54% of the total dollars wagered on the point spread, as of Friday evening.

Chiefs vs. Bills

The Buffalo Bills were a very popular bet on both the spread and moneyline in last week’s 47-17 win and pounding of the Patriots. Now the Bills are taking big betting action against the Kansas City Chiefs. The line has shifted a full point to Chiefs after opening -2.5.

“The handle for Bills-Chiefs will be the biggest of the playoffs so far, and it’ll give the Conference Championships a run for their money too,” Caesars Adam Pullen told TheLines about 2022 NFL Divisional odds. “The final game of the round will always be the highest-bet game, and it’s great that this is the last game because it jumps off the page. It’s crazy that this matchup is the divisional round, but there’s good reason to be excited. Everything points to this being a great game to watch and a lot of points being scored.”

Entering the weekend, Buffalo had generated 55% of the total number of tickets and 65% of the total dollars were wagered at Caesars Sportsbook. That includes a North Carolina bettor staking $220,000 on Bills +3 (-110) for potential winnings of $200,000.

Bills money is 3-1 and 4-1 in favor of Buffalo at FanDuel Sportsbook, as of Friday. It’s even stronger for New York sports bettors supporting the Bills, and the handle will soar with in-play live betting on the last divisional round game of the weekend.

“The whole narrative is behind Josh Allen and Buffalo, and the market is sold on the Bills,” Sheeran said.  He adds, “I think the over is interesting, and it will likely go up.” The total is 53.5 at both FanDuel and BetMGM, but FanDuel was at 54.5 on Thursday. DraftKings is at 54.5 Caesars is holding at 54.

“We lean on our number, which is only 53, Sheeran says. “I couldn’t bet the under, and both teams will have success offensively.”

DraftKings Sportsbook has a heavy position on the over with 70% of the totals bets and 90% of the totals money entering the weekend expecting a very high scoring contest.

The Chiefs are also dealing with a player being arrested this week.
