NFL Christmas Day Parlay Picks & Player Props: Santa Delivers Three Division Rivalries
It's Christmas Day, and the NFL has been kind enough to gift wrap a trio of games for our viewing pleasure. All three battles are division rivalries, with the Dallas Cowboys traveling to take on the Washington Commanders in the early game, followed by the Detroit Lions taking on the Minnesota Vikings. Finally, the Denver Broncos take on the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.
While all three games don't look pretty on paper, there's plenty of value to be had. In fact, all three games have the road teams favored by at least one touchdown, with the Broncos favored by nearly two scores.
There are plenty of playoff implications as well, with the Broncos looking to take one step closer to clinching the number one seed in the AFC, while the Lions try to stay alive in the NFC postseason race.
These battles will be a huge hit on our favorite sports betting sites. While you're there, you can find all of the latest NFL odds on our favorite NFL betting sites and take advantage of some juicy deals tied to this game and the holiday season.
NFL Game Lines
Cowboys-Commanders Over 50.5 (-106)
๐ Odds via FanDuel ย ๐
The last time these two faced off against one another, the Cowboys had absolutely no trouble pummeling the Commanders, winning 44-22 with Jayden Daniels getting injured halfway through proceedings.
Way back when, the two teams had combined for over 60 points with over two minutes left in the third quarter. These two teams haven't changed all that much on both sides of the ball, so we should see a similar shootout going down in the nation's capital on Christmas Day. Slam the over.
Detroit Lions -7.5 @ Minnesota Vikings (-105)
๐ Oddsvia DraftKingsย ๐
The Lions still have all to play for, while the Vikings will have to start thinking about next season after being freshly eliminated from the playoffs. There's no telling who the Vikings will trot out, as Kevin O'Connell has kept his gameplan pretty close to his chest.
Minnesota starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy has been ruled out with a hairline fracture in his right hand, and will likely be shelved for the remainder of the season. Rookie backup Max Brosmer will start in his place, with journeyman backup Brett Rypien having just been claimed off waivers after being released by Indianapolis on Monday.
Brosmer had a proper disaster in his lone start against the Seattle Seahawks, going 19-for-30 for just 126 yards and four interceptions as the Vikings were shut out 26-0. It'll be hard for him to perform worse, but he was a bit promising in relief last week against the Giants, going 7-for-9 for 52 yards as he helped them win 16-13. However, we certainly aren't expecting Minnesota to be competitive. Absolutely hammer the Lions in this one before the line grows any more.
Denver Broncos -13.5 @ Kansas City Chiefs (-106)
๐ Odds via Caesars Sportsbook ๐
No Patrick Mahomes. No Gardner Minshew. Chris Oladokun, who was a seventh-round draft pick back in 2022, will start for the Chiefs after doing a reasonably good job in relief last week. The Chiefs still lost by 17 points to the Tennessee Titans, who are one of the worst teams in the league.
They won't have a chance to beat the Broncos whatsoever, who will still be competing for the top spot in the league. The biggest question is how much they'll run away with this one by.
We highly recommend slamming the under (36.5), as we think this one will end something like 31-3.
Player Props
Javonte Williams Anytime Touchdown Scorer (-180)
๐ Odds via FanDuel ย ๐
Last time out, almost everybody notable had a huge game for the Cowboys, with Dak Prescott throwing for three touchdowns. Javonte Williams ran for 116 yards and a score last time out, and it's worth remembering that he's auditioning for his next contract, as he only signed a one-year deal with Dallas last offseason.
George Pickens 100+ Receiving Yards (+191)
๐ Oddsvia DraftKingsย ๐
Another player who's on a one-year deal with the Cowboys is George Pickens, who has certainly earned a mega-deal somewhere after an absolutely magnificent year in Dallas. He's already put up 88 catches for 1,342 yards and nine touchdowns, and will probably look to finish with a line like 100 catches for 1,500 yards and 10+ touchdowns as he looks for a huge payday.
Denver-Kansas City Over 6.5 Combined Sacks (-130)
๐ Odds via Caesars Sportsbook ๐
On one end, we have the Denver Broncos going after the all-time sack record for one season, rushing an extremely inexperienced quarterback who's about to start his first career NFL game after making his first career appearance last week. On the other end, the Chiefs still have a pretty stingy defense that will want to remind Bo Nix that he's still a second-year quarterback. We love this as one of our favorite props.
