Many rookies failed to shine in their professional debut outside the Chiefs’ Xavier Worthy. That included Cardinals wideout Marvin Harrison Jr., who notched just one reception for four yards (via three targets) against the Bills. Let’s examine further details about his poor showing and whether his odds for Offensive Rookie of the Year were impacted.

how marvin Harrison jr. made nfl history
Harrison, the fourth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, finished dead last on the stat sheet among Arizona’s pass-catchers in receiving yards during their 34-28 loss at Buffalo. In fact, he accrued the fewest receiving yards of any top-five WR pick since 1992.
That season, Washington’s Desmond Howard failed to make a dent on the stat sheet in his first action. Nevertheless, Howard was used primarily as a punt returner.
Despite receiving three opportunities, Harrison was on the field for 54 snaps and ran 33 routes. Since his receiving yards prop was lined at 65.5, the highest on the team, many were perplexed why he wasn’t more involved.
“I saw a lot of cloud (coverage) to him (Harrison),” Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon said. “So they obviously were trying to take him away. But we had a bunch of guys catch balls so that’s how our offense is gonna be built. The ball should go where it should go depending on the coverage.”
But Harrison’s OROY price point barely underwent any movement. His best odds are at DraftKings Sportsbook. Harrison is third in this betting market behind quarterbacks Caleb Williams (Bears) and Jayden Daniels (Commanders). He was lined in the +700 range before Arizona’s regular-season opener.
Williams only generated 93 passing yards, completing 14 of 29 pass attempts. Conversely, Daniels tallied 272 total yards and two rushing touchdowns in their blowout loss against the Buccaneers.
Up next, the Cardinals take on the Rams, which you’ll find in odds for NFL Week 2. When oddsmakers release Harrison’s props, they’ll populate in the BetFinder below.
