D’Andre Swift continues to lead the Vikings backfield, but when it comes to touchdowns, he’s far from alpha.
Despite playing in two fewer games, Roschon Johnson has six rushing touchdowns to Swift’s five. He only trails in red-zone rushing attempts, 23 to 14, despite having a much lower snap count overall. The team clearly trusts Johnson close to the goal line, and rightfully so, given the two players’ respective results this season.
The Vikings have a top-flight rushing defense, but that sort of thing doesn’t move the needle as much for me when we are considering Johnson’s role.
In a spot where we could see the Bears offense collapse again, I’d prefer to take a shot on longer odds rather than take any kind of chalk.
Vikings WR Jordan Addison Over +162 on Bet365
Justin Jefferson is one of the best in the business, but one of the few players who has had success slowing him down is Bears CB Jaylon Johnson. When these teams last met, Jefferson posted a meager 27 yards on two catches. Sam Darnold targeted him just five times.
Meanwhile, Addison shined with 8-162-1.
That’s part of a general heater for Addison. He’s tallied 410 yards and five scores over the past four games.
Addison has a plus matchup against the Bears, as Tyrique Stevenson is the closest thing to a weak point in this secondary.
T.J. Hockenson is also worth considering here at slightly longer odds. He decimated the Bears in the prior matchup, but I’m a little concerned about the other TEs stealing his touchdowns in the red zone.
