Bears RB Khalil Herbert ()

Herbert has had an underwhelming start to the 2023 season. He’s only managed 93 yards rushing on 23 carries as the Bears have only held the lead for ten total minutes through three games. They’ve also played two rushing defenses sitting just outside the top 10. Things should get much more manageable this Sunday when Chicago welcomes the Broncos’ porous defense to Soldier Field.

Denver is coming off of a historically bad defensive effort in Week 3, allowing 10 TDs and 70 points to the Dolphins. Five of those 10 scores came via Miami’s speedy running backs, Raheem Mostert and DeVon A’chane, three of which were receptions. Only three teams have allowed three receiving TDs to running backs: Denver, Chicago, and Carolina. That bodes well for Herbert, an active player in the passing game, with 10 targets and six receptions.

Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker ()

Walker has been a beast around the goal line in the early going this year. His four rushing TDs are second only to the indomitable Mostert. Now he gets a prime-time matchup with the New York Giants on Monday Night Football, a team that has watched the opposing RB march into the end zone six times this season.

Seattle should encounter little resistance from this Giants defense in between the 20s, setting up Walker with ample opportunities to score. New York has allowed the fourth-most rushing yards this season and the ninth-most overall. Their abysmal rush defense is only slightly worse than its pass defense as well. Makes sense, considering they’ve basically had a negative game script since the opening minutes of Week 1 when the Cowboys romped them 40-0.

The Seahawks have visited the red zone 13 times so far, tied for third-most. New York has given up 12 red zone opportunities to its opponents, including the better-than-expected Arizona Cardinals. Seahawks QB Geno Smith’s ability to move the chains and Walker’s incredible efficiency around the goal line make this a fair play for Week 4.

Bills QB Josh Allen (

Josh Allen and the Bills face a crucial matchup with the division-rival Miami Dolphins this Sunday. The atmosphere in Buffalo will be electric with Bills Mafia at peak insanity levels.

“Like fan, like quarterback,” and I expect Allen to be hungry for blood.

In 29 career games vs. division opponents, he’s recorded 12 rushing scores, suitable for almost 0.5 a game. He averages nearly one more rush per game against AFC East teams, a solid indication he’s extra willing to lay his body on the line in these instances. He should have at least a few attempts to do so against this Miami defense, too. Through three games, the Dolphins have allowed opponents in the red zone 11 times, with seven ending in six points.

Buffalo has worked its way into scoring territory 13 times with eight TDs. Allen has the four rushes inside the offensive 20-yard line, fourth-most among QBs. I’ll take the plus-odds that he’s able to punch another one in a pivotal home game.
