Guerendo suffered a foot sprain in Sunday’s win over the Bears and is considered day to day, according to 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan. While San Francisco is already without Christian McCaffrey and Jordan Mason, Guerendo has not been ruled out for Thursday’s matchup against the division-rival Rams.
After accumulating 72 rushing yards and two scores versus Chicago, Guerendo has another plus matchup. Los Angeles’ run defense benefited from the Bills going pass-heavy on Sunday, but don’t be fooled. The Rams have yielded the sixth-most EPA per carry this season, gashed by the Saints and Eagles in their previous two matchups.
As of this publishing, Guerendo owns the second-best odds for an anytime touchdown, stationed behind only Rams tailback Kyren Williams. For context, Williams has scored four times in his last three matchups. Guerendo’s price tag is warranted, as Kyle Shahan’s zone rushing scheme has taken advantage of Sean McVay’s defense countless times.
I recommend spending pizza money on Guerendo. If he’s inactive, backup Patrick Taylor is a worthy ATTD candidate.

Unlike Guerendo, I’m more inclined to bet on Samuel because of his appealing ATD odds. He hasn’t found the end zone in his last six games, creating a bit of a discount. A few weeks ago, Samuel was priced in the +130 range.
He even took to social media to complain about his usage, which included five carries versus the Bears juxtaposed with three targets. He’s since deleted his post, possibly because he also leads the team in drops.
Nevertheless, I expect Samuel to receive his fair share of opportunities against a vulnerable secondary. Given the volatility of this market, especially regarding this offense, I wouldn’t bet more than pocket change on Samuel.
