NFL Anytime Touchdown Odds: 3 TD Player Props To Consider Week 8

anytime touchdown odds

It seems hard to believe, but we’re almost halfway through the 2023 NFL season. I’m sitting with positive earnings for the year from betting anytime touchdown odds, one of the most popular prop bets across the best sports betting sites. Sports bettors can choose between various TD props, including anytime scores, first touchdown, and last TD. This week, I’m projecting a receiver, a tight end, and a running back to reach pay dirt and adding all three to my account. Let’s dive right into it.

Jets RB Breece Hall ()

Week 6 vs. the Bills marked the first time this season that the Giants’ defense managed to keep the opposing starting back out of the end zone. As dynamic as James Cook has been this season, he’s not Breece Hall. The Jets’ star back is coming off back-to-back games with a rushing TD.

After a 40% snap share during the first four games, he saw that number rise to 52% two weeks ago and 65% against the Eagles last Sunday. Hall enjoyed 11 different red zone touches over those two games as well. While Dalvin Cook was a nice stopgap for New York during the first five games, the plan was always for Hall to command the bulk of the carries by Week 6.

Now, he has the luxury of facing a Giants team that has given up 10 touchdowns on the ground, third most in the league. It’s also allowed the fifth-most yards in general, which is why opponents are visiting the red zone more than three times per contest. Hall is one of the few three-down and goal-line running backs left in the NFL when healthy. Give me plus money for him to reach the end zone against one of the worst run defenses around.

Texans RB Devin Singletary ()

The tide seems to be turning in the Texans backfield. Dameon Pierce started the season as the team’s clear No.1 option on the heels of a solid rookie campaign. However, we’re eight games into his sophomore season, and he hasn’t found the end zone yet. It’s not for a lack of attempts either, as he’s seen 18 red zone touches so far, including five in goal-to-go situations.

This would be where Devin Singletary enters the conversation. The former Bills RB signed with Houston this offseason and has quietly been waiting his turn. That turn came during Week 6 in the form of a 55% snap share, nearly double Pierce’s 32%. That includes five red zone touches for Singletary, equal to the combined amount he saw the five games prior.

Houston will return from its bye to face the winless Carolina Panthers. Ryans has yet to reveal how he’ll split the workload between his top two RBs, but it might not matter. Carolina’s run defense is so bad it’s reasonable to expect both Pierce and Singletary to score in this one. The Panthers have given up the third-most rushing yards and the most touchdowns to opposing RBs this season.

I’ll take Singletary’s ATTD prop at better than double the juice we’re getting for Pierce to score.

Giants TE Darren Waller ()

Major disclaimer to this bet: Make sure Tyrod Taylor is starting at quarterback for the Giants before considering these anytime touchdown odds. That’s right, make sure the backup is playing to feel comfortable betting on the team’s tight end to score. It seems counterintuitive, but after two games with Taylor behind center, there’s at least a small correlation between his presence and Waller’s success.

In five games with Jones under center, Waller has the same number of red zone targets as he does in two games with Taylor. However, only Taylor has connected with him, delivering Waller’s first score as a Giant in a win over the Commanders last week.

The Jets’ defense is stacked with talent in the secondary and upfront. Its only slight weakness is its linebacking core, which has allowed five touchdowns to opposing tight ends, the most in the league. Even if Jones is a late start in the battle for New York regular season football supremacy, Waller is a quality bet with such favorable odds to score any time.
