Washington Commanders (+4.5) at Philadelphia Eagles (-4.5)

The Commanders’ 45-31 road victory over the Lions on Saturday night was one of the bigger postseason upsets in recent memory, and it came on a night when Washington mostly did everything right. Jayden Daniels became the first rookie in NFL history to top 300 total yards in two postseason contests, while Brian Robinson, Austin Ekeler, Dyami Brown, Terry McLaurin and Zach Ertz were all key contributors. However, the fast track and perfect weather conditions of Ford Field certainly helped, and Dan Quinn’s squad will now have to attempt to replicate that feat in what could well be a much more challenging environment similar to what Philadelphia had on Sunday.

The Eagles got the better of the Rams on Sunday afternoon in what were blizzard-like conditions at times, although the victory came via a tight 28-22 final score that saw Los Angeles lose the ball on downs in the red zone during the closing seconds. The bad footing brought on by the snow helped the cause of Saquon Barkley, who closed out a 205-yard, two-touchdown performance with a game-winning 78-yard scoring scamper. Considering Barkley combined for 296 rushing yards and four TDs against the Commanders in two games during the regular season, he’ll likely be a focal point of Philly’s attack yet again, especially if Jalen Hurts is limited by the knee injury he sustained during Sunday’s game.

The Commanders are 4-2-1 ATS as road underdogs with an ATS +/- of +7.9 points since the start of the regular season. They were 1-1 against the Eagles in the regular season, taking an eight-point loss in Week 11 in Philly before forging a three-point victory in the nation’s capital in Week 16 in a game Hurts exited after only 12 snaps due to a concussion.

The Eagles are 5-5 ATS as a home favorite since the start of the regular season and 3-4 against the number in playoff games since Jalen Hurts become a full-time starter in 2021.

The NFC championship game has opened with an over/under of 47.5 points.
