NCAAF Parlay Picks Today: Best Bets for Week 3: Utes, Hurricanes Poised for Blowout Wins

With a couple of games on the ledger, there’s a lot more information with which to build your NCAAF parlay picks for Week 3. Most teams still have a few question marks, but a few have looked like genuine contenders for a championship.

These are often the best bets to make in the early season. The public doesn’t want to fully buy in yet, nor do they want to pass judgments on some of their opponents. That makes some of the favorites among the biggest bargains on the board in the early season.

That’s even more true if a team feels like it has something to prove. Consider the case of Utah. The Utes entered a new era when Kyle Whittingham left for Michigan. Morgan Scalley had never been a head coach before, and he and his team seem to want to prove that things will be just fine with him in charge.

The Utes have two dominant wins to their name, and now they welcome in an in-state foe whom they don’t consider a real rival. Utah State looked better in Week 2 than Week 1, which brought the line down a few points from where it should be.

That makes the Utes a quality choice when considering your NCAA parlay picks for Week 3.

Utah State gave a credible showing last week against Washington. The Aggies lost by two points in Seattle, and that probably has more to do with Washington than Utah State. The evidence against them comes from losing to FCS foe Idaho State. The Bengals were never really in danger, winning by 12 points in Logan.

Although Utah State won that game on the stat sheet, the Aggies doomed themselves with mental mistakes. That doesn’t work against a team like Utah. The Utes have long prided themselves on not making self-destructive errors, which Scalley has carried over from Whittingham.

Utah has looked excellent in its first two weeks, crushing Idaho by 52 and Arkansas by 33. The Razorbacks aren’t one of the SEC’s better teams, but they’re still an SEC squad. If Utah can handle an SEC team by that score, it can do the same to Utah State.

Hurricanes’ Offense Looks Far Too Powerful

Miami might hit the total on its own in this game. The Hurricanes have averaged 61 points in their first two games this season. Darian Mensah has been able to do what he wants with the football, and Wake Forest just allowed Purdue to throw for more than 300 yards.

The Boilermakers are improved, but the Wake defense hasn’t seen anything like what Miami brings to the table. Facing Akron and Purdue aren’t any kind of preparation for what the Hurricanes will be doing. Both the total and a Miami cover seem to be quality options on Friday in Winston-Salem.

Wildcats Can’t Handle a Hostile Environment

Kentucky has long been a different team in Lexington compared to anywhere else. The Wildcats gave a credible effort for a half against Alabama, but that was at home. They also couldn’t sustain it and got outscored 32-0 in the second half.

A similar fate awaits them in College Station. Kentucky went 1-4 SU and ATS on the road last year, and the only victory was over an Auburn squad that fired its coach. In four road games against teams who didn’t fire their coaches, the closest the Wildcats came was 21 points.

Texas A&M features an opportunistic defense. The Aggies forced four Arizona State turnovers last week in a 48-20 win over the Sun Devils. They should be able to force Kenny Minchey into several errors on Saturday.
