As is tradition, the second semifinal at the Final Four is expected to be the bigger game. These are the last surviving No. 1 seeds, and the consensus expects the winner of the Michigan vs. Arizona game to be crowned national champions two nights later.

What’s remarkable is how similar these teams have been. Both are built around creating possessions for themselves and denying good looks at the basket. Michigan has been a little better at shooting and rebounding; Arizona has been better at keeping teams away from the rim. Both can push the tempo and score a lot of points, and both can force teams to slow things down to figure out their defenses.

In short, this might be one of the best college basketball games of the season. It also has the potential to be a grueling affair, one that could take a lot out of both teams.

Here’s a look at this Final Four game

Michigan vs. Arizona Prediction

Best Bet: Arizona +2 (BetMGM, -110)

In a game as even as this, taking the points is usually the best option. Arizona’s best hope against Michigan is for the Wolverines to miss their 3-point attempts, something the Wildcats are capable of making happen.

It’s not a guaranteed strategy: Michigan was just average on 3-pointers against Illinois earlier this year and still won that game by 14. But Arizona’s defense doesn’t allow as many looks as the Illini do. Nor does Illinois close off on the rim as well as Arizona does. The Wildcats force teams away from the rim, and they make opponents settle for whatever shot they can get.

The other key for the Wildcats will be their rebounding. Michigan has dominated on the glass all season, but the Wolverines haven’t seen many teams as long as the Wildcats. Arizona’s bigs have to spend the night in the paint.

Michigan vs. Arizona Same Game Parlay

This is a big question for Arizona and coach Tommy Lloyd: how will Jayden Bradley be used? Against better teams, Bradley has often been used to facilitate open looks for his teammates. But against this defense, Bradley might have to knock down a few shots to get Michigan interested.

The Wolverines know how good Arizona is around the rim, and they know that giving up open looks down low is far too risky. That should lead to Bradley getting a few looks early before Michigan decides to change up its defense and give him more attention.

Most likely, there will be just enough shots in this game for Bradley to get his numbers.
