Best NBA Bets Today – Player Props
Karl-Anthony Towns, Knicks Over 4.5 Assists (+134, BetMGM)
Towns put up big playmaking numbers in the second half of the Knicks’ series with the Hawks. After putting up a total of 10 assists in the first three games, he recorded 26 assists in the final three games. That included a pair of triple-doubles, coming in Games 4 and 6. Towns has at least four assists in nine of his last 10 games entering this contest. He averaged six assists a night in the series against the Hawks in the first round. Take the over in this contest as Towns turns in another solid showing.
Joel Embiid, 76ers Over 4.5 Assists (-135, BetMGM)
Embiid has turned things around for the 76ers, especially in the final three games against the Celtics. Much like the Knicks with Towns, the 76ers have had success running the offense through Embiid. He has dished out 28 dimes in four games, with no fewer than six in a contest. The 76ers need to create opportunities for Tyrese Maxey, Paul George and VJ Edgecombe in order to have success. That means they need a facilitator and their big man is the answer. Embiid ends up over the number again here.
Victor Wembanyama, Spurs Over 11.5 Rebounds (-111, Fanatics)
Wembanyama averaged 11.5 rebounds per game during the regular season. While that number drops to 8.8 rebounds per game in the playoffs, that does come with a bit of an asterisk. He had four boards in 11:41 in Game 2 against Portland before leaving with a concussion. After missing Game 3, he collected 12 boards in Game 4 and 14 more in Game 5. While Rudy Gobert is solid on the boards himself, it’s tough to slow Wembanyama down for long. He pulled down at least a dozen boards in seven of his last 10 games. Look for him to turn in another such performance at home.

Knicks -7.5 (FanDuel, -106)
There is a ton of history between these teams and there are sure to be some heated moments. The Knicks have home court advantage here, though the road team won all four regular season games this season. Both teams found something in the late stages of their opening round series running through their big men. Towns turned in a pair of triple-doubles against the Hawks while Embiid handed out 28 assists in four games. The Knicks have a rest advantage here, which works in their favor. Four starters for the 76ers logged at least 39 minutes. Look for New York to take advantage and wear down the 76ers to take Game 1.
Spurs -14.5 (DraftKings, -104)
Give Minnesota all the credit in the world for taking down Denver in Game 6 despite missing Anthony Edwards and Donte DiVincenzo. Making things worse, Ayo Dosunmu missed Game 6 with a calf issue. The Timberwolves still prevailed to advance but that game was at home. This one is in San Antonio, where the Spurs went 33-8 in the regular season. We saw the home team take all three regular season meetings this year. While reports say Edwards could return mid-series, it doesn’t help Minnesota here. Therefore, take San Antonio as the rested, deeper team prevails at home.
