76ers vs. Pistons Prediction, Odds & Picks for Nov. 4: Back the Over

You've found my 76ers vs. Pistons prediction for tonight! The Philadelphia 76ers visit the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET at Little Caesars Arena, with first place in the East on the line.
The Pistons are the only team to put a blemish on Philly's season, winning 106-93 on Oct. 25. I'll break down the odds, trends, and my best bets below.
76ers vs. Pistons Odds
Philadelphia enters 7-1 and owns the top spot in the East, while Detroit is right behind at 6-1. Here are the 76ers vs. Pistons odds from FanDuel Sportsbook:
- Spread: 76ers +2.5 (-118) / Pistons -2.5 (-104)
- Moneyline: 76ers (+106) / Pistons (-124)
- Total (Over/Under): Over 217.5 (-110) / Under 217.5 (-110)
Detroit is a short home favorite, and at -124, the Pistons carry an implied win probability of about 55.4%, per our implied probability calculator. The total is low by today's standards, so the market is expecting a defensive grinder. You can compare every number on the board with the latest NBA odds.

- The 76ers are 7-1 straight up and 5-3 against the spread.
- Philadelphia has won four straight.
- The 76ers' lone loss came against Detroit, without Joel Embiid and VJ Edgecombe.
Both of these teams can play defense, and it's incredible what the additions of Jaylen Brown and LeBron James have done on that end for the Sixers. Brown has a top-10 individual defensive rating among players logging starters' minutes.
Embiid gets clowned by much of the public, and many don't appreciate his greatness. However, he's still one of the best scorers in basketball, even when he's not 100% healthy. His defensive impact is the key cog for Philly, as he owns one of the best defensive ratings of any starting center in basketball in 2026.
The Sixers have struggled at times in the half-court, though. They're at their best in transition, and the defense has been awesome. That's why the 76ers' odds are those of a serious championship competitor.
Philadelphia head coach Nick Nurse has taken some heat for his stars' playing time, especially Embiid, who has logged major minutes early in the season. However, Philly has opened up with a ton of big Eastern Conference games. Those outcomes will be critical in the spring when a game or two separates much of the herd.
Embiid will get his breaks, though, just as he did against the Bulls in a blowout win on Monday. However, against Detroit, another team expected to be toward the top of the East, I expect Nurse to let it rip when it comes to Embiid's playing time.
Detroit Pistons Betting Trends
- The Pistons are 6-1 straight up and 6-1 ATS.
- Detroit is 2-0 straight up and ATS at home.
- Cade Cunningham leads Detroit with a massive 32% usage rate.
Detroit is a defensive gauntlet. The Pistons own the best defensive rating in the NBA, and Philadelphia ranks third. The head-to-head Under trend is real, but Philly was missing two starters in the last meeting. This time around, the Sixers have all five of their main starters available.
Offensively, Duncan Robinson is off to a scorching start this year. He's averaging a career high in both points per game and 3-point percentage. I'd expect some negative regression coming from him sooner rather than later.
76ers vs. Pistons Prediction: Over 217.5 (-110)
On paper, this sets up as a slugfest. But Philadelphia plays at the eighth-highest pace in the league, while Detroit is tied for the second-slowest pace, according to Hollinger's ESPN statistics.
That's why my 76ers vs. Pistons prediction is the Over. This is a pace-up spot for the Pistons, and when Detroit gets dragged into more possessions, a total this low becomes reachable. It doesn't feel fantastic betting the Over between two elite defenses, but the number is short enough that a few transition buckets can get us there.

More 76ers vs. Pistons Picks, Props and Best Bets
Here are my other 76ers vs. Pistons picks, including two 76ers vs. Pistons props I like on the Philly side.
- Joel Embiid Over 3.5 assists: FanDuel, -125 – His assists have been all over the place, and he's only cleared this line in three of six games. But Embiid has played 167 minutes with Brown, James, Tyrese Maxey, and Edgecombe, averaging 5.16 assists per 36 minutes in those lineups. They enjoyed a blowout win over the Bulls on Monday, and everyone was off Tuesday, so he should be fairly rested. With so many stars drawing attention, Embiid, an underrated passer, should find guys cutting to the lane for easy baskets and open shots. Philly's half-court offense should run through him.
- Anfernee Simons 15+ points: FanDuel, +520 – This is a very small wager. Simons has cleared 15 points in three of his last four games, and he's been a microwave off the bench when things get stale. He's not afraid to chuck from 3 in any circumstance, so if the Sixers play from behind, they could rely on him to get hot. Philly was missing at least one stud in most of those games, but these are generous odds for a guy who's shown this ceiling.
