Khris Middleton Returns to Wizards in Six-Team Sign-and-Trade
The NBA offseason continues to deliver plenty of action, with the latest move being a Khris Middleton sign-and-trade from the Dallas Mavericks to the Washington Wizards.
And this is a deal that ultimately ends up being the final piece of a larger six-team trade that moves many players from team to team across the league.
But for Washington specifically, this is a move that brings in a veteran forward with championship pedigree who’s familiar with the franchise, given he played there just last season before being dealt in the Anthony Davis trade with the Mavericks.
So this is a return back to Washington for Middleton, and it’s a full-circle moment.
For a Wizards team that’s looking to make a leap this year, they’ve got Anthony Davis, they’ve got Trae Young, they’ve got a young core that continues to develop, and they bring in the No. 1 pick in AJ Dybantsa. The firepower and depth is there, and they're primed to be one of the biggest risers of any team around the league.
Middleton is a player who doesn’t need to play a ton of minutes to make an impact on this team, both in the locker room and off the court. And when he does step on the floor, he still has enough, especially on the offensive end, to give the Wizards some extra firepower and experience.
So this is a move that may go under the radar this offseason with everything else going on.
But fast forward six months from now, and this could look like one of the more underrated signings and underrated moves for any team this offseason.
Khris Middleton is back with the Washington Wizards.
