NBA All Star Game odds

Following back-to-back action-packed nights where a total of 19 games went down, the NBA takes a notable breather Thursday night with just two games on tap. The made-for-TV slate shouldn’t lack for intrigue, however, as the Lakers versus 76ers and Timberwolves versus Warriors battles should both offer plenty of fireworks, especially with Los Angeles potentially buoyed by the recent return of Anthony Davis.

NBA odds for Thursday, January 27

Here are the latest basketball point spreads, moneylines and totals for today’s games.

What to watch for today

Lakers look to build on big Tuesday win, get AD more minutes: The Lakers were essentially treading water during Anthony Davis’ month-plus absence due to a knee injury, going just 7-9 during that stretch. However, the big man was able to make his return Tuesday night against the Nets, and although he produced a modest eight points, two rebounds, two assists, four blocks and one steal in 25 minutes, his presence undoubtedly had an impact in a 106-96 win for Los Angeles.

With a record of 24-24, Frank Vogel’s squad undoubtedly has plenty of work to still do to fulfill its potential, but they’ll have a golden opportunity to continue building back their confidence in their visit to the 76ers on Thursday night. Philadelphia is one of the Eastern Conference’s top squads with a mark of 28-19 and has won 12 of its last 15 games. Davis’ defense should certainly come in handy against Joel Embiid, who’s averaged 34.7 points, 10.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.5 blocks over that span.

T-Wolves get big litmus test at Chase Center: The Timberwolves have been on a nice run of their own of late, going 8-3 over their last 11 games. The play of Minnesota’s Big Three of Karl-Anthony Towns, Anthony Edwards and D’Angelo Russell has clearly been integral to the team’s success, and Chris Finch’s club gets an excellent test Thursday. The host Warriors are seemingly back on track with four wins in the last five games and coming off a 130-92 rout of the Mavericks, and they should be at full health for the third meeting of a season series that’s currently tied 1-1.
