Celtics At Kings Player Props

Jayson Tatum Over 33.5 Points and Assists

Here are Tatum’s core points, rebounds and assists props for the game against the Kings:

  • Points: Over/Under /
  • Rebounds: Over/Under /
  • Assists: Over/Under /
  • Points and Assists: /

With a point total set close to 240, it should be another high-scoring game in Sacramento. The average total of a Kings home game this season exceeds 243 points.

Tatum struggled in his last game against the Utah Jazz on Sunday. He only managed 15 points in 39 minutes with 33%/37% shooting splits. It hasn’t been his best road trip either, averaging 25 points on 38%/26% splits.

The last time Tatum scored 15 or fewer points in a game, however, was in an ugly loss to the Knicks less than a month ago. The next game, he punished the Cavaliers with 41 points and eight assists, connecting on 67% of his 3-point attempts.

That’s why I’m going over on Tatum’s points and assists on Tuesday night against the Kings.

Tatum’s Turnarounds

Tatum has a history of big-time turnaround performances after a bad night like the one he just had in Utah. On Feb. 15, he followed up a 16-point game against the Grizzlies with 38 points in Detroit three nights later. Tatum will also be coming off of two days of rest on Tuesday.

He’s had plenty of success playing the Kings in his last three meetings with Sacramento posting 33-6-5 with an individual offensive rating of 143.8. He’s also made more than five 3-pointers against a Kings team allowing the third-most 3s to its opponents over the last five games.

Sacramento has had trouble with its porous defense all season, especially to opposing small forwards. As a team, it allows the fourth-most points per game and second-most assists to Tatum’s position. They’re also allowing the most assists overall since the All-Star break.

The Kings will play for the second night in a row following their own loss to the Utah Jazz on Monday night. They’re giving up 125 points per game on the second leg of back-to-back games this season.

Editor’s Note

Pistons At Hawks

James Wiseman Under 26.5 Points and Rebounds

Here are Wiseman’s core points, rebounds and assists props for the game against the Hawks:

  • Points: Over/Under /
  • Rebounds: Over/Under /
  • Assists: Over/Under /
  • Points and Rebounds: /

James Wiseman has been playing pretty well for the Detroit Pistons this season. He’s played 14 games for the team since coming over in a trade from the Golden State Warriors, averaging just below 14 points per game with a sturdy nine rebounds.

He’s been even better since the team went into full on tank mode. Over his last seven games, Wiseman’s putting up 17 points and 10 boards in 30 minutes per game.

Those numbers are just above his points and rebounds prop tonight, but let’s take a closer look at which teams he’s played during that time: the Washington Wizards and Indiana Pacers twice each, Charlotte Hornets, Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets.

Looking past the anomaly that was Wiseman’s impressive performance against Bam Adebayo and the Heat, three of those opponents are awful against the center position. The Wizards, Pacers, and Hornets are all bottom five at limiting opposing centers’ points and rebounds this season.

That’s why I like under Wiseman’s combined points and rebound prop on Tuesday night against the Atlanta Hawks.

Ball Hawks

Wiseman will have a much tougher time putting up stats against a Hawks defense that is finally at full strength. Clint Capela, John Collins, and Onyeka Okongwu have all played each of the team’s last seven games and it shows in their defensive metrics.

Prior to their those games, the Hawks were allowing the 10th-most points to opposing centers on the season. Since returning their three most-important post players, they’ve jumped all the way up to allowing the 10th-fewest to Wiseman’s position.

During those seven games, the Hawks are also limiting teams to the third-fewest offensive boards per game. Their ability to limit the Pistons’ second-chance points will be huge in shutting down Wiseman and the rest of the offense. Detroit has the second-best offensive rebounding percentage over its last seven with Wiseman racking up about five second-chance points per game.
