There were five NBA games originally scheduled for Thursday night, but the Bulls will have their second straight game postponed due to their COVID outbreak. The Pistons are playing at the Pacers, the Nets forge on despite their COVID outbreak in a home game against the 76ers, the Knicks look to snap a 4-game skid at Houston, and the Suns will look to win a 13th straight at home against a sputtering Wizards team.
We’ll highlight our best Thursday NBA player props and link to the NBA Coast 2 Coast Podcast, featuring Nate Weitzer and Josh Lander. Subscribe for free daily picks on our YouTube Channel.
We break down each of those games in those videos today and bring you a couple of prop bets to consider, including those listed below.
NBA Player Props: Find Today’s Best Odds
Best NBA player prop bets for Thursday, December 16
Suns G Chris Paul
Chris Paul is averaging 15.8 PPG over 22 wins this season and 9.2 PPG in the Suns’ five losses. His usage rate (24.8%) climbs along with his PPG (18.3) over his last 10 games without Devin Booker (hamstring) and he’s produced a double double in four straight home games without Book. The Suns (-8.5) are expected to win tonight against a Wizards team that is on the second leg of a back-to-back and has failed to cover in seven straight. We like CP3 to top 26.5 combined points and assists and score at least 15 points in a win, which would net +108 odds by using the Player Performance Doubles at FanDuel.
Pistons G Cade Cunningham
The Pistons have been playing at the fastest pace in the league over their past four games and will continue to let their No. 1 overall pick fire away now that Jerami Grant (thumb) is out for over a month. Cade Cunningham is averaging 22.8 PPG and 6 RPG over his last four outings, and had 26 points and 8 boards against Brooklyn with Grant out on Sunday. The Pacers allow the second-most PPG in the paint (49.5) when playing at home and Cunningham is shooting a higher percentage (42.5%) from the field in road games. Take him to top 25.5 combined points and rebounds as a relatively safe bet.
