NBA Pick ’Em Today: Best NBA Plays for Jan. 6
Daily Fantasy Sports doesn’t always have to mean building a full salary-cap lineup. On Underdog, NBA Pick’em is as simple as it gets, as you're just deciding higher or lower on a handful of player stat projections and pairing them into one entry.
For this slate, I’m rolling with five lines that are rooted in role, volume, matchup context, and the kind of game environments that tend to boost DFS production, especially when using Underdog's latest offers.
Pascal Siakam: Higher 1.5 3-Pointers Made
Siakam is a confident, willing shooter from deep for a forward, and he’s at his best when defenses are forced to respect him as a complete scorer. If the opponent prioritizes protecting the paint and sending help toward drivers, that naturally creates more pick-and-pop and catch-and-shoot opportunities for someone with Siakam’s offensive freedom. He doesn’t need a perfect night, just a normal workload with a couple of clean looks to get home.

McCollum can still score in bunches, but this line is about matchup texture more than talent. Against a more disciplined defense that can stay attached to shooters, take away early rhythm jumpers, and force tougher midrange attempts late in the clock, his scoring path becomes narrower. If the game turns into a half-court grind and the defense keeps him from getting comfortable early, the under becomes very live as Washington can default to its young players running the show.

Luka Doncic: Higher 8.5 Assists
This is a classic Doncic play because his passing production is often baked into how defenses guard him. When teams send extra attention, load up on his drives, or try to blitz him in ball screens, he’s one of the best in the world at calmly finding the open man. If his teammates simply hit a reasonable number of the open shots he creates, nine assists is a very realistic outcome.
De’Aaron Fox: Higher 21.5 Points
Fox’s scoring profile is built for consistency. He plays with pace, puts pressure on the rim, and has the type of burst that can create advantages even when the defense knows what’s coming. In matchups where he can attack gaps, get downhill, and control tempo, he rarely needs an outlier shooting night to clear a modest points line, especially as he is quietly having the most efficient season of his career.
Cooper Flagg: Higher 33.5 Pts + Rebs + Asts
This one is about all-around impact. Flagg doesn’t have to be purely a scorer to rack up production, he can fill the stat sheet with rebounds, secondary playmaking, and points in transition or on broken plays. If the game stays competitive and he plays full minutes, his versatility gives him multiple paths to hit this number without needing one single category to carry the entire load.
Play $5 in Fantasy Entries, Get $75 in Fantasy Bonus Entries That’s the card, with five NBA Pick’em plays on Underdog built around reliable roles, logical matchups and a mix of floor and upside. DFS is always about choosing the right spots where a player’s style and opportunity align, and this entry leans into that idea across the board.
