As the Eastern and Western Conferences wind toward crowning their winners, the NBA Finals loom, potentially just days away depending on what transpires. But, according to one prominent Las Vegas oddsmaker, NBA Finals odds will favor Golden State no matter its opponent.
Of course, the Warriors must still finish off the Mavericks. But, with a 3-1 lead and home court advantage to boot, we can pretty safely assume they’ll face either the Celtics or the Heat. When that happens, Jeff Sherman of Westgate SuperBook says, expect to see the Warriors with a minus sign next to them on the NBA championship odds board.

How Big A Favorite Will Warriors Be?
Sherman tweeted on Monday that Westgate has hung the following prices for NBA Finals odds:
- Warriors -130/Celtics +110
- Warriors -200/Heat +175
The Celtics put a massive beating on the Heat, 102-82, hours later in Game 4. Would that affect these markets? Unlikely, but possible.
The Celtics have been the most dominant team so far in the playoffs according to efficiency differentials from Cleaning The Glass that filter out garbage time. They lead the Warriors in that telling statistic, +7.6 to +5.6, a larger margin than the second-place Warriors have against the fifth-place Bucks. Some high-profile outlets have maintained for months that the Celtics have the best team in the NBA.
However one thing to keep in mind is the Warriors own a sizable health advantage — and likely a rest advantage — against either Eastern finalist. Nearly all of their rotation players are healthy. Only replaceable parts Gary Payton II and Otto Porter are on the shelf.
By contrast, key Celtics Robert Williams III, Jayson Tatum and Marcus Smart have struggled with injuries. Williams III chipped in 19 minutes in Game 4 against Miami but missed Game 3. The Heat find themselves in even worse shape. They have five rotation players listed questionable for Game 5 while Jimmy Butler, off the injury report, is also operating at less than 100%.
NBA Finals Exact Result Markets
While Westgate has taken the initiative on offering NBA Finals odds, online sportsbooks have taken a different approach. Rather than make markets for each possible matchup, with action only occurring if that matchup takes place, they have posted futures markets where bettors can wager on the exact finals outcome.
In this case, all markets are action. The bet is essentially a multiway parlay of each team to win its respective conference and then beat a given opposing team in the Finals.
Obviously bettors can get some pretty wild prices on the Mavericks. Remember, no team has ever overcome a 3-0 deficit in the NBA.
