Which NBA Draft Odds Are Worth Considering?
As of Monday, Banchero’s odds to be the No. 1 overall pick have dropped to +650 after sitting at +2000 on Friday. He’s as low as +400 at DraftKings Sportsbook, so bettors collectively buy into that notion.
Smith has a similar skillset to Banchero while possessing a slightly higher ceiling. If the Magic were to deviate away from the Auburn product, Holmgren theoretically makes sense because of his unique 7-foot-1, floor-spacing frame. But Banchero’s prowess for creating off the dribble, along with his vision in those instances, shouldn’t be taken for granted.
With that being said, I’d rather stay away from that market. Instead, consider Murray as the No. 4 pick (+250). Not only has Kings owner Vivek Ranadivé publicly endorsed drafting the former Iowa star, but he’d also fit perfectly alongside the 6-foot-11 Domantas Sabonis as another stretch big or three-man in their lineup.
Moreover, Sacramento already showcases a pair of ball handlers in De’Aaron Fox and Davion Mitchell. Considering Jaden Ivey — another soon-to-be lottery pick — wants to play point guard at the next level, drafting him wouldn’t make much sense. If it retains the pick, Murray appears to be the guy.
