The NBA schedule rollercoaster is back on the downswing Monday night, as we go from an 11-game slate Sunday down to a four-game ledger. As of early Monday, it seems to be split down the middle into two projected close games and a pair of more likely lopsided encounters as far as points spreads are concerned. There are notably several teams in action that are in the midst of particularly poor stretches of play, as well as a Suns squad that’s boasting an NBA-best six-game winning streak.

NBA odds for Monday, January 24

Here are the latest pro basketball point spreads, moneyline and totals for today’s games.

What to watch for

Knicks aim for atonement against Cavaliers after rough first encounter: The Knicks were able to to snap their latest skid at the Clippers’ expense Sunday afternoon, 110-102. New York is still just 23-24, and they have a tough challenge ahead of them Monday in trying to forge a second win in as many days. The host Cavaliers are 28-19 overall, have won seven of their last 10 and thumped New York the first time the two teams met this season at Madison Square Garden. Cleveland notched a 126-109 win, a game in which J.B. Bickerstaff’s club shot 54.4 percent, including 54.3 percent from three-point range.

Bulls out to snap nightmarish skid versus Thunder: As much as the Bulls enjoyed the first two and a half months of their season, they’re likely wishing they could erase the last couple of weeks. Chicago has lost Lonzo Ball for multiple weeks due to knee surgery, is still missing Zach LaVine due to his own knee sprain and has dropped six of its last seven contests. The downturn has knocked Billy Donovan’s squad out of the top spot in the Eastern Conference for the time being, but Monday night seemingly presents a get-right opportunity — the host Thunder have dropped 10 of their last 11 games and have an 8-14 mark at home. Nevertheless, the Bulls are just narrow two-point favorites as of early Monday.

Jazz looks to cool off defending conference champs: The Jazz are another contending squad that hasn’t been at its best lately, with Utah dropping seven of its last nine games. The ongoing absence of Donovan Mitchell due to a concussion has certainly played a part in the struggles, and after a two-point loss to the Warriors on Sunday, the going gets even tougher Monday night. Quinn Snyder’s squad is in Phoenix for the first of four games against the defending conference champion Suns, which boast an NBA-high six-game winning streak and have an 18-5 mark straight up on their Footprint Center home floor.
