The American Gaming Association (AGA) is pushing a new campaign initiative that has brought on the NBA as a partner. The campaign is known as: “Have A Game Plan. Bet Responsibly.” This will educate basketball fans on the importance of responsible gambling and safe wagering practices. Resources will be issued to all 30 teams.

Goals Of NBA, AGA “Have A Game Plan” Campaign

For the NBA “Have A Game Plan” campaign, the content will be provided at every team’s stadium. This content includes live broadcasts, digital and social media content, in-stadium banners, and other events.

The goal of the campaign is to combat problem gambling. As sports betting grows in popularity, the risk of problem gambling increases in more and more markets. With the NBA embracing sports betting through sportsbook partnerships, it is important that the league also works for responsible gaming practices.

“Responsible gaming is an integral component of the NBA’s approach to legal sports betting,” said Scott Kaufman-Ross, NBA Senior Vice President, Head of Gaming & New Business Ventures. “Working with the AGA on this initiative is an important part of our multifaceted approach to this critical topic and will provide our teams with tools to make a true impact on responsible gaming education in NBA markets across the U.S. and Canada.”

The Have A Game Plan campaign has been live since 2019 and its goal continues to be uniting sports betting with education. There are set rules the AGA is aiming to have all sports betting fans follow. This will help them avoid the traps of problem gambling.

AGA Finds Responsible Gambling Most Important Aspect Of The Industry
