As the NASCAR tour comes to Pocono Raceway in Northeast PA this weekend, there’s another big reason to tune in or come out for the Explore the Pocono Mountains 350 on Sunday. Bubba Wallace will debut the DraftKings #23 Toyota Camry for the NASCAR Cup Race (that’s the top circuit). Wallace continues his first season for team owner Michael Jordan, also known for wearing 23 in the arena of competition, of course.

This is an interesting weekend for NASCAR in the rustic Poconos. There are two NASCAR Cup races this weekend (325 miles on Saturday), with a truck race Saturday and an Xfinity race on Sunday preceding the main event. Wallace will only compete on Sunday in the longer race, trying to improve on his 22nd place in the standings. He still seeks his first top 10 finish on the season.

To celebrate the new car, DraftKings is running a free-to-play pool for Sunday’s race. Players can sign up, answer the eight questions, and enter for a chance to win part of the $1,000 prize pool. The top 160 entrants will win something, with the top prize being $100 and a signed crew jersey from Wallace’s team. Not gonna lie, that’s a pretty cool incentive to get for nailing picks, and a fairly unique prize to win.

It’s interesting to see how DK has diversified its investments in pro sports. Last weekend, the DraftKings logo was front and center when Bryson DeChambeau powered his way up the leaderboard Sunday afternoon during the US Open – and his subsequent plummet on the back nine. If Wallace can find success at Pocono, that could be a huge turning point for his season and his partnership with the gaming powerhouse. It may also open some doors for future relationships with athletes and even pro teams.
