Saints Injury Analysis

The Saints appear to have a large problem on the interior of the line. Center Shane Lemieux, already an injury replacement himself, is out. That will elevate third-stringer Connor McGovern into the lineup, though he at least has experience. Assuming Lucas Patrick is out after missing all of the practices this week, that will leave three backups in.

Facing Chris Jones could prove to be a rough situation.

New Orleans will also miss starting LB Willie Gay (in a revenge spot).

Additionally, red-zone ace Taysom Hill is out. He scored twice in the team’s Week 4 game only to miss the entire second half. We’ll see if costs them some conversions in Chiefs territory.

Chiefs Injury Analysis

The Chiefs don’t have anything concerning on their weekly injury report. Most of their concerns are of the longer-term variety.

This will be the first game without WR Rashee Rice. The top option on the team by all metrics, Rice will give way to some combination of Justin Watson, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and more multiple-TE looks. The Chiefs already use 12 and 13 personnel in the NFL at some of the highest rates, and they elevated another TE to the main roster this week.

Obviously, RB Isiah Pacheco remains out as well.
