Texans Injury Analysis

The Texans’ defense is reeling a bit in terms of health. While they still performed solidly against Detroit, the unit is down several key pieces.

The most notable of those is EDGE Will Anderson Jr. The young star is still nursing a sprained ankle, and a Friday report cleared up his timeline somewhat. He recorded a second straight DNP on Friday, and Aaron Wilson reported the team is aiming for a December return. Somewhat confusingly, Anderson won’t go on IR, though.

Regardless, it sounds like he’s out for sure in Week 11.

He’ll be joined on the sideline by starters DT Foley Fatukasi and CB Kamari Lassiter.

LB Christian Harris is also on IR.

WR Stefon Diggs is on IR as well. He’ll be the major piece missing from the offense, which Nico Collins’ return should boost.

Cowboys Injury Analysis

Obviously, Dak Prescott’s absence leads here. The offense flopped with Cooper Rush at the helm last week, and Trey Lance was just as bad, if not worse, in relief. This situation looks extremely dire if Rush can’t return to the level of play he showed in 2022 when he put together a 4-1 run in relief of Prescott.

Starting CBs DaRon Bland and Jourdan Lewis each missed the first two practices. There isn’t any meaningful depth behind them, so the Cowboys’ defense will likely continue to underperform.

Key starters on IR include WR Brandin Cooks and EDGE DeMarcus Lawrence.
