Ravens Injury Analysis

The Ravens have a pretty clean injury report heading into Monday Night Football. There aren’t any significant concerns here.

In fact, they may get some reinforcements at cornerback if Arthur Maulet winds up activated from IR. He’s on the designated return list and could provide a boost to a secondary that has been torched at times this year. Maulet isn’t a star, but he provided solid play for the Ravens last season.

Buccaneers Injury Analysis

The main concern here revolves around WR Mike Evans. The star pass catcher has a sore hamstring, which his coach described as “tweaked.” That doesn’t sound like a huge issue, but it’s worth noting that he missed each of the first two practices of the week.

Beat writer Rick Stroud reported that Evans expects to play on Monday, however.

CB Jamel Dean is the other big one. Although Tampa Bay isn’t facing a high-volume passing attack, Dean is the team’s only trustworthy veteran corner. He hurt his hamstring and seems like an underdog to go.

Chargers Injury Analysis

The Chargers have gotten the offensive linemen back, but now the defense has been hit by injury.

Joey Bosa missed each of the first two practices. The oft-injured rusher’s latest ailment is to his hip. He worked out a bit on the side during Friday’s practice but was listed as a non-participant.

There’s a cluster injury in the cornerback room here. All three of Ja’Sir Taylor, Deane Leonard, and Kristian Fulton made it onto the injury report this week. The latter two missed Thursday’s practice entirely. Asante Samuel Jr. is already on IR.

If Fulton and Leonard can’t go, the entire cornerback room will likely consist of late-round rookies and practice-squad call-ups. Keep an eye on this situation as it could significantly open up the field for the Cardinals passing attack.

WR Quentin Johnston also missed the first practice. He isn’t really a critical piece, but look for Simi Fehoko to step in and garner some targets if Johnston can’t go.

Cardinals Injury Analysis

The Cardinals lost starting G Will Hernandez to IR for the rest of the season. He’s a standout, so that’s a fairly large blow. Trystan Colon-Castillo will replace him, and he doesn’t have much experience.

Rookie WR Marvin Harrison Jr. entered concussion protocol after taking a big hit on Sunday. He has made progress through the protocol and was able to log limited practices to start the week. He looks like a coin flip to play on Monday against a possibly injury-ravaged secondary.

K Matt Prater remains on IR. Chad Ryland is serving as his replacement. He was arguably the worst kicker in the NFL last year for New England.

The one piece of good news is rookie EDGE Darius Robinson is on the designated return list. He will have a chance to play, and the Cardinals could sorely use some pass-rushing juice since they rank 29th in the league in pressure rate.
