You've found the best MLB bets today for May 27th! Wednesday's slate features Gerrit Cole's second start back in the majors and home run picks today against a pitcher we've been fading all season. Here are my best MLB picks for today's action.

Best MLB Bets Today: Player Props for May 27

Gerrit Cole under 4.5 strikeouts at -128 on FanDuel Sportsbook is my top MLB bet today as the New York Yankees visit Kauffman Stadium to face the Kansas City Royals.

Cole survived his first big-league start five days ago in a tough matchup against Tampa Bay, and we're going back to the well here. Kansas City doesn't present the same elite-level challenge, but the Royals are a completely average team, striking out around 21% of the time against right-handed pitching this season.

Meanwhile, Cole pitched effectively in his return, but his whiff rate and chase rate were simply pretty underwhelming. It's a small sample, and we'll give him the benefit of the doubt as he continues to ramp back up. I'm happy to take the under with only a little juice as Cole works his way back into a rhythm.

Best Bet: Gerrit Cole Under 4.5 Strikeouts FanDuel, -128

MLB Player Props Today: Andrew Abbott Over 17.5 Outs

Andrew Abbott over 17.5 outs at +103 on DraftKings Sportsbook is one of my favorite MLB player props today as the Cincinnati Reds visit Citi Field to face the New York Mets.

Abbott has turned things around since a rough start to the season. However, his expected ERA and expected batting average aren't great. But the Mets are absolutely atrocious right now, ranking 21st in wRC+ against left-handed pitching this season.

Chase Burns was solid in Cincinnati's win on Tuesday, but the Reds did lean on four quality relievers in the process. Manager Terry Francona will want innings from Abbott on Wednesday, and we've seen him extend Abbott deep into games when he's cruising over the last two seasons. Getting this prop at better than even money is the icing on the cake. Abbott is analytically an average pitcher, but the Mets are simply terrible, and the Reds need length.

Best Bet: Andrew Abbott Over 17.5 Outs DraftKings, +103

Home Run Picks Today: Ben Rice

Ben Rice is turning into a superstar, so let's head to Kauffman Stadium for MLB home run picks today. We've been fading Noah Cameron all season, and it's been a profitable exercise. Temperatures are projected to be around 81 degrees on Wednesday night, which is great hitting weather.

Cameron continues to be brutal in 2026 compared to last season's 2.99 ERA. The advanced metrics were screaming regression all along, and now we're seeing it play out in real time. He carries a 4.97 expected ERA and ranks in just the 13th percentile in expected batting average, 18th percentile in barrel rate, and 22nd percentile in hard-hit rate per Baseball Savant.

Cameron isn't keeping the ball on the ground either. The lefty-lefty matchups have been giving Cameron particular fits, as he's allowing a .265 ISO to left-handed hitters this season.

Rice at +470 is my home run pick today. Rice has completely broken out in 2026, posting a .274 ISO against left-handed pitching this season. That price feels like a complete gift. Jazz Chisholm and Trent Grisham are in play as well, but Rice is clearly the best left-handed bat in New York's lineup this season.

Best Bet: Ben Rice to Hit a Home Run FanDuel, +470

Good luck on Wednesday. Let's cash some MLB best bets!
