MLB Today’s Best Bets for June 3: Home Run Picks & Top Player Props
Welcome back to my best MLB bets today for June 3rd! This MLB slate is a big one, and we've got three strong spots to attack. I'm backing two talented pitchers and hunting for home run picks today at Wrigley Field. Here are the best MLB picks today for Wednesday!
Best MLB Bets Today: Player Props for June 3
Death, taxes, and Chase Burns over 6.5 strikeouts. When will oddsmakers learn? Burns has been one of the most reliable props of the 2026 season, and we're going back to the well at -115 on BetMGM Sportsbook as the Cincinnati Reds take on the Kansas City Royals.
Burns is a true Cy Young candidate at such a young age. His stuff is absolutely filthy. He ranks in the 93rd percentile in whiff rate and 76th percentile in chase rate per Baseball Savant, and his strikeout rate is nearly 29% on the season.
The line is likely set where it is because Kansas City has some contact-oriented bats in the projected lineup. Only three hitters in the Royals' projected order carry strikeout rates of 27% or higher against right-handed pitching this season. But with the nastiness Burns brings to every start and his ability to make anyone look foolish, -115 at six and a half strikeouts is close to an automatic bet for me.
Best Bet: Chase Burns Over 6.5 Strikeouts BetMGM, -115
Up To $1500 in Bonus Bets Paid Back if your First Bet Does Not Win MLB Player Props Today: Walbert Urena Under 4.5 Hits Allowed
Walbert Urena under 4.5 hits allowed at +117 on DraftKings Sportsbook is one of my favorite MLB player props today as the Los Angeles Angels visit the Colorado Rockies. This is a competitive number, but the plus-money price is what makes it a strong play.
Urena looks like an outstanding young arm. His chase rate sits at the 76th percentile, his whiff rate at the 72nd percentile, and I expect his 21% strikeout rate to climb as hitters see him less. Rather than the strikeout angle today, I like the hits-allowed prop instead.
Urena has been elite at keeping the ball on the ground and suppressing hard contact. Colorado is unsurprisingly one of the worst offenses in baseball against right-handed pitching, ranking 23rd in wRC+ this season. Hunter Goodman is a scary bat in the Rockies lineup who can go deep at any moment, but he also strikes out at an alarming rate. I'll back the talent here at plus money and take Urena to allow four hits or fewer.
Best Bet: Walbert Urena Under 4.5 Hits Allowed DraftKings, +117

For my MLB home run picks today, we're heading to Wrigley Field, where the Athletics visit the Chicago Cubs. The temperatures are cooler than ideal, and the wind isn't doing us any favors, but the matchup here is so good that it doesn't matter.
The Cubs are sending Colin Rea to the mound, and he's striking out less than 20% of left-handed hitters dating back to the beginning of last season. Rea is allowing a .205 ISO against left-handed hitters, but his expected ISO against them climbs all the way to .242.
Rea throws his fastball roughly 45% of the time to lefties. That's playing right into Nick Kurtz's wheelhouse. Dating back to last season, Kurtz has an absurd .330 ISO against right-handed pitching. Additionally, against right-handed fastballs specifically, that number skyrockets to an insane .483 ISO in over 140 plate appearances per AddMoreFunds. I'm not sure I care if there were a blizzard at Wrigley because this matchup is that good. Kurtz at +330 on FanDuel Sportsbook is my top home run pick today.
Best Bet: Nick Kurtz to Hit a Home Run FanDuel, +330
