MLB Today’s Best Bets for June 25: Home Run Picks & Top Player Props
Happy Thursday! You've found my best MLB bets for June 25! I'm targeting three player props, including a home run pick today in the Red Sox vs. Yankees game. Here are my top MLB picks for Thursday.
Best MLB Bets Today: Player Props for June 25
Cam Schlittler over 6.5 strikeouts at +120 on DraftKings Sportsbook is my top MLB bet today. The New York Yankees travel to Fenway Park to battle the Boston Red Sox.
Schlittler has been an absolute machine this year. He's striking out 27% of right-handed hitters and a whopping 31% of lefties this year. He ranks among the elite in just about every advanced metric under the hood. There's a little narrative juice here too, given the rivalry he's developed with Boston.
The Red Sox have been a roughly average strikeout team against right-handed pitching both in June and across the full season, punching out at the 11th-highest clip in the league against righties. Additionally, they're traveling back from Coors Field — an awesome hitting environment — all the way across the country and a couple of time zones, with no off day before opening this homestand.
I think the Sox could come out a touch lethargic, and I'll happily take Schlittler to grab seven-plus Ks at a plus number.
Best Bet: Cam Schlittler Over 6.5 Strikeouts DraftKings, +120
MLB Player Props Today: MacKenzie Gore Under 5.5 Strikeouts
Next, I'm targeting MacKenzie Gore under 5.5 strikeouts on Thursday. The southpaw has a tough draw against the Blue Jays, and six K's might be a tough ask.
Gore is on the road here, but more importantly, I think his strikeout rate is due for a bit of a dip in the second half. While he ranks in the 73rd percentile in strikeout rate according to Baseball Savant, his chase rate and whiff rate both sit in the 54th percentile.
The matchup makes it tougher. Toronto is an elite team when it comes to avoiding strikeouts, owning the 9th-best strikeout rate against left-handed pitching this season. That's a brutal matchup for Gore, and the Blue Jays will likely run his pitch count up and grind out at-bats, capping his strikeout upside.
Best Bet: MacKenzie Gore Under 5.5 Strikeouts DraftKings, -155
New DraftKings Customers: Spend $5+ Get $200 in Bonuses Instantly! Home Run Picks Today: Paul Goldschmidt
Now, for my MLB home run picks today! We're back at Fenway Park for Yankees-Red Sox, and I'm targeting a guy who's been quietly unbelievable in Paul Goldschmidt.
Goldschmidt is up to 14 home runs this season after going deep twice on Wednesday against the Tigers. He did that damage against Tarik Skubal, which doesn't get any better than that. Across the full season, Goldy has been annihilating left-handed pitching. Coming into Wednesday, he had six homers and five doubles in 73 at-bats against lefties, good for a .740 slugging mark in the split.
Additionally, Goldschmidt is hitting right around .300 on the year, and honestly, the way he's playing, he belongs in this year's All-Star game. I know some folks are hesitant to back a guy coming off a multi-homer game, but he's drawing another left-handed pitcher here at Fenway, and +449 is a pretty darn good price in this day and age. Give me Goldschmidt to stay hot against Connelly Early on Thursday.
Best Bet: Paul Goldschmidt to Hit a Home Run DraftKings, +449
