Meanwhile, his 10.9 K/9 innings marks the seventh straight season where he pitched at least 40 innings with a double-digit K/9 rate. The Mets are average in terms of strikeouts as they fan 8.40 times per nine innings this season. Meanwhile, that number slides to 8.15 whiffs a game at home. Alvarez is tied for second in the league in batting average, first in homers and second in RBI. In addition, Alvarez has a .298 average with 12 doubles, seven homers and 27 RBI in 124 at-bats at Angel Stadium of Anaheim.
