MLB Today’s Best Bets for 06/29: Home Run Picks & Top Player Props

It’s a solid 13-game slate on the diamond to start the new week and the next-to-last day of June Monday, starting at 6:35 pm ET when the White Sox open an early week set with the Orioles in Charm City. The schedule gives plenty of opportunities to find the best MLB bets today, including the top home run props. After looking over the slate, we’ve identified our favorite plays to bolster your bankroll. Without further ado, let’s get to the best options on the board for Monday, June 29.

Best MLB Bets Today: Player Props for June 29

Mookie Betts, Dodgers Over 1.5 Total Bases (+105, Fanatics)

Betts is hitting well of late after a slow start. He has a hit in nine of his last 10 games entering this one. Meanwhile, he has four multi-hit games in that span, including a pair in Sunday’s finale with San Diego. Betts has 29 total bases in his last 10 games and has cashed this prop in six of those. In addition, he’s cashed this prop in five straight contests. While he hasn’t faced rookie Gage Jump in his career, the fact remains that this game is at Sutter Health Park. That’s a hitters’ paradise and this one should be no different. Betts makes it six straight cashes by picking up at least two bags here.

George Kirby, Mariners Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-105, Fanatics)

Kirby fanned 137 hitters in 126 innings for the Mariners last season, so he has the ability to rack up whiffs. This season, his K numbers are down a bit as he has 84 punchouts in 96 innings of work. He has five or fewer strikeouts in five of his last six starts entering this one. However, he did record 10 whiffs against the Pirates, another free-swinging team, in that stretch. The Angels are the majors’ worst team in terms of strikeouts as they fan 9.48 times per nine innings this season. In his career, Kirby has limited current Angels’ hitters to a .194 average in 67 at-bats. Meanwhile, he has a 37.3% whiff rate (25 Ks) in that sample size. Take the over here as a result.

Jackson Chourio, Brewers Over 1.5 Total Bases (+115, BetMGM)

Chourio missed time earlier this season with a hairline fracture in his finger that he sustained in the WBC. He’s clicking of late, with at least one hit in eight of his last nine games entering this one. In addition, he has 16 total bases on the books in his last 10 games. Chourio cashed this prop in four of his last 10 games entering this contest, including three of his last four. For the season, he has a .301 average with 12 doubles, 10 homers and 30 RBI over 176 at-bats in 41 games. Chourio is three of nine with a double in his career against Reds’ starter Nick Lodolo. Lodolo has been roughed up with a 5.59 ERA while allowing 53 hits, including eight homers, in 46.2 innings. Chourio should take advantage of Lodolo’s issues and the fact that the Brewers are at home to cash this.

Home Run Picks Today (06/29):

Willson Contreras, Red Sox (+360, Fanatics)

Contreras is having a power surge in his age-34 season for the Red Sox. He enters this contest hitting .281 with 14 doubles, two triples, 17 homers and 50 RBI on the season for Boston. Meanwhile, his .898 OPS is tied for 34th in the majors. That’s a lot of pop for a guy that hasn’t hit more than 24 homers in a season. At Fenway Park this year, Contreras is hitting .309 with nine homers in 139 at-bats. Facing Miles Mikolas is a bonus for him. In his career, Contreras is seven of 19 with two doubles and a homer against Mikolas. Meanwhile, Mikolas has served up 16 homers in 77.1 innings on the year. Contreras takes him deep.

Byron Buxton, Twins (+237, DraftKings)

Buxton’s power game is clicking right now and that’s one of the few things that has gone right for the Twins. He enters this game with a .268 average, 15 doubles, a triple, 25 homers and 43 RBI on the year. Buxton has fared well in interleague play, posting a .299 average with four doubles and eight homers in 77 at-bats on the year. In addition, he’s got a .234 mark with 11 homers in 154 at-bats away from Target Field. Buxton does hit .273 with 21 homers off right-handed pitching this season. He hasn’t faced Peter Lambert in his career. Still, look for Buxton to flex his muscle again here to put one in the seats.
