MLB Today’s Best Bets for 05/11: Home Run Picks & Top Player Props
It’s a light six-game slate on the diamond to start the new week Monday, starting at 6:10 pm ET when the Angels open an early week set with the Guardians at Progressive Field. The schedule gives plenty of opportunities to find the best MLB bets today, including the top home run props. After looking over the slate, we’ve identified our favorite plays to bolster your bankroll. Without further ado, let’s get to the best options on the board for Monday, May 11.
Best MLB Bets Today: Player Props for May 10
Kevin Gausman, Blue Jays Under 5.5 Strikeouts (-140, Fanatics)
Gausman started the year strong, fanning 11 hitters in his first start against the Athletics. He followed that up with 10 whiffs in six frames against Colorado in his second start. Things have trended down in the strikeout department since that point. Gausman hasn’t logged more than five punchouts in any of his last six starts. That includes a six-inning stint where he allowed two runs on six hits with one walk and three strikeouts in his last start. Coincidentally, that start came at Tropicana Field against this Rays squad. Tampa Bay hitters just saw Gausman and they keep him under his K prop again here.
Evan Carter, Rangers Over 0.5 Total Bases (-135, BetMGM)
Carter has struggled this season, entering this one with a .176 average to go with five doubles, five homers and 13 RBI in 119 at-bats. With that said, he’s been a little better of late. He homered Sunday, giving him a pair of long balls in the last five games. Carter cashed this prop in four of his last six games and only needs a knock to turn this one into a winner. With him seeing the ball a little better and the Rangers at home, look for him to find a way to have one land as Carter climbs toward the Mendoza line.
Ben Rice, Yankees Over 1.5 Total Bases (+120, BetMGM)
Rice had a tough weekend against the Brewers, finishing zero for 13 with five strikeouts. With that said, he gets a crack at the Orioles, a team the Yankees faced and roughed up in a four-game sweep in the Bronx last week. The Yankees outscored the Orioles 39-10 in the games, scoring at least seven runs in all four games. Rice played in three of the games, going five of 10 with four runs, a double, two homers and four RBI. He strafed Orioles pitching to the tune of a .400 average (14 of 35) with two doubles, a triple, six homers and 11 RBI last year. This is the cure for what ails the Yankees’ first baseman. Rice goes over the number here.
Home Run Picks Today:
Aaron Judge (Fanatics, +225)
Judge went deep in Sunday’s loss to the Brewers for his 16th blast of the year. He has four homers in his last eight games entering this one. That includes a pair of blasts in last week’s series with the Orioles. Judge was six of 14 with two homers and seven RBI in the four-game set with Baltimore. In his career, Judge has destroyed Orioles pitching. Over 434 at-bats (551 plate appearances), Judge has a .325 average with 53 (!) homers and 116 RBI against Baltimore arms. If he gets a pitch to hit, it could travel a long way at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
Corbin Carroll, Diamondbacks (+440, Fanatics)
Carroll hasn’t seen the power display that we saw last year, when he hit 31 homers. Entering Monday, he is hitting .258 with eight doubles, four triples and five homers in 132 at-bats. Even his steals are down as he has just four swipes after stealing at least 32 bags each of the last three years. Globe Life Field typically is a pitchers’ park and that is even more pronounced this season. However, Carroll has success against Nathan Eovaldi in his career. He is five of 13 in his career with a homer and four RBI against him. It’s a longer shot but on a light night on the diamond, you could do worse than Carroll.
