The schedule gives plenty of opportunities to find the best MLB bets today, including the top home run props. After looking over the slate, we’ve identified our favorite plays to bolster your bankroll. Without further ado, let’s get to the best options on the board for Sunday, May 3.
Best MLB Bets Today: Player Props for May 3
Max Fried, Yankees Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-140, DraftKings)
Fried hasn’t been a big strikeout pitcher this season but he should have opportunities here. In 47.1 innings spanning seven starts this season, Fried has 37 strikeouts. He has six-plus strikeouts in three of his seven outings this season. Current Baltimore hitters have posted a .224 average in 85 at-bats against Fried. In addition, they have struck out 26 times, which is a 30.6% strikeout rate. Fried also gives the Yankees distance, having thrown at least six innings in six of his seven starts. Baltimore whiffs at the sixth-highest rate (9.21 per game) entering Saturday night. Ryan Weathers just got five punchouts in five frames Saturday. It’s safe to say Fried is a better pitcher than Weathers. Take the over here.
Ozzie Albies, Braves Over 1.5 Total Bases (-105, BeMGM)
Albies is hitting .326 on the season after a two for four night in Atlanta’s 9-1 win over the Rockies at Coors Field Saturday night. He has gone over this prop 19 times in 34 games this season. In addition, Colorado sends Kyle Freeland to the bump in this contest. Albies has great success against Freeland in his career. He’s 11 of 24 (.467) with three doubles, a triple and five RBI against the Colorado lefthander. Throw in that Albies is hitting .275 in his career with seven doubles, a triple plus five homers in 109 at-bats at Coors Field and this seems undervalued. Take Albies to go over this prop for the sixth straight game.
Shea Langeliers, Athletics Over 1.5 Total Bases (+105, Fanatics)
Langeliers is raking of late for the Athletics and looks to keep it going here. He had three hits Saturday, giving him 18 hits in his last 10 games. He has six multi-hit games in that span, including three three-hit games. That included Saturday, where he singled and launched a pair of homers. For the year, Langeliers is hitting .336 with nine doubles and 10 homers entering Sunday. He’s gone over this prop in six of his last 10 games, racking up 32 total bases in that span. Langeliers is hot and one swing can cash this one. Look for that to happen.
Home Run Picks Today:
Byron Buxton, Twins (DraftKings, +327)
There may not be a hotter power bat in the majors right now than Buxton. He homered Saturday, marking his third straight game with a long ball. Buxton has five homers in his last six games and 10 on the season. He is hitting a solid .324 at home this season with eight homers in 74 at-bats. Trey Yesavage was great down the stretch last season but is making his 2026 debut here. Buxton has the pop in his bat right now and hits well at Target Field. Look for him to go yard again here.
Matt Olson, Braves (+340, Fanatics)
Olson launched a moonshot Saturday night, giving him bombs in back-to-back games in this series. He has four long balls in his last six games. For the season, Olson is hitting .293 with 11 homers and 30 RBI entering this contest. While he is three of 17 in his career against Freeland, one of those hits left the yard. Olson has six homers in 93 career at-bats in 23 games at Coors Field. He’s swinging a hot bat right now and with altitude, mediocre pitching and decent temperatures, he goes deep again.
