Reid Detmers, Angels Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-125, Hard Rock)
Detmers was rumored to be dealt at the trade deadline but ultimately stayed with the Angels. He is 4-8 with a 3.62 ERA, a 1.06 WHIP, 44 walks and 172 strikeouts over 149 innings in 26 starts on the year. Detmers is eighth in the majors in strikeouts on the season. In addition, Detmers recorded at least seven strikeouts in 11 of his starts. He has 104 strikeouts over 85 innings of work in 14 starts at Angel Stadium this season. The Phillies have pop in their lineup but they have some strikeout prone guys as well. Philadelphia strikes out 8.82 times per game on the road this season and they don’t face Detmers often. That works in his favor as he goes over the strikeout number.
Dylan Cease, Blue Jays Over 7.5 Strikeouts (-125, FanDuel)
Cease piles up the strikeouts and this one seems poised for a similar result. The Mariners are 23rd in the majors in strikeout rate as they whiff 8.65 times per contest on the year. Meanwhile, that number remains flat at 8.65 strikeouts a game as the visiting team. That number ranks in the middle of the pack in the majors. Cease stands 8-5 with a 2.37 ERA and stands second in the league with 209 strikeouts over 144.1 innings of work. Current Seattle hitters have a .250 average in 84 at-bats with 21 strikeouts. That’s enough to see Cease, who fanned nine Mariners in seven shutout innings in his first start against them this season, to surpass the number.

Tanner Bibee, Guardians Over 18.5 Outs (+150, Fanatics)
Bibee is in the midst of a lost season for the Guardians this year. He is 5-13 despite a 3.97 ERA, a 1.145 WHIP, 44 walks and 123 strikeouts over 156.1 innings in 27 starts on the year. Bibee turns in decent length in his outings this year and facing Kansas City helps. He’s thrown at least six innings in 17 starts on the year. Meanwhile, he faces a Royals squad that is just 22nd in the majors in runs per game with 4.22 per contest. Bibee has a 4-1 mark with a 3.53 ERA over 51 innings against the Royals in his career. In addition, Kansas City is dead last in road scoring with 3.54 runs per contest. Look for a solid outing from Bibee in this contest.
Jackson Kent, Nationals Under 18.5 Outs Recorded (+120, Hard Rock)
Kent was called up from the minors earlier this month and has made three big league starts. It’s been a rough transition to the majors for him. He comes in 0-2 with an 8.03 ERA, a 2.108 WHIP, 11 walks and 14 strikeouts in those outings. In addition, he hasn’t gone deeper than 4.2 innings in any of those three starts to this point. That includes a start against this same Marlins squad his last time out. In that outing, he threw 4.2 innings, allowing three runs on four hits with three walks and five strikeouts in a 6-2 Nationals loss. Meanwhile, he’s had control issues in these outings. Look for him to end up with another short outing to wind up short of the number.
