Best MLB Pitcher Strikeout Bets Today: Player Props for August 27
Chris Sale, Braves Over 7.5 Strikeouts (+130, FanDuel)
Sale may be 37 and not going as deep into games for the Braves as in the past but he still gets the job done. He owns a 12-9 record with a 2.20 ERA, a 1.03 WHIP and 166 punchouts over 135 innings of work on the year. Meanwhile, his 11.1 K/9 innings marks the seventh straight season where he pitched at least 40 innings with a double-digit K/9 rate. The Dodgers are good in terms of strikeouts as they fan 7.86 times per nine innings this season. That number is sixth in the majors. Meanwhile, that number climbs to 8.20 whiffs a game on the road. In his career, Sale has seen current Dodgers hitters post a .226 mark against him in 106 at-bats. Meanwhile, he has a 31.1% whiff rate (33 Ks) in that sample size. Take the over here as a result.
Jacob Misiorowski, Brewers Over 9.5 Strikeouts (-109, DraftKings)
Where Misiorowski goes, strikeouts inevitably follow. Of course, when you can throw 105, it makes it rather difficult to get the bat on the ball. For the season, Misiorowski is 13-5 with a 1.68 ERA, a 0.759 WHIP, 33 walks and 216 strikeouts over 145 innings in 24 starts. The Mets are slightly below average when it comes to striking out. They are 18th in the majors with 8.48 whiffs per game. Misiorowski has at least six strikeouts in all but one start this season. Meanwhile, he has 10 double-digit whiff outings. Take him to rack them up in this contest.
Best MLB Pitcher Prop Picks Today (08/27):
Gerrit Cole, Yankees Over 18.5 Outs (-215, Fanatics)
Cole missed a big chunk of the season but pitched solidly since he return. He comes in 7-6 with a 3.11 ERA, a 1.068 WHIP, 20 walks and 100 strikeouts over 92.2 innings in 16 starts. Cole worked at least six innings in 10 of his 16 starts on the year. Meanwhile, he threw at least six frames in seven of his last eight starts heading into this outing. He faced his former team four times in his career, posting a 1-2 mark with a 2.57 ERA, a 0.857 WHIP, five walks and 28 strikeouts over 28 innings of work. Cole is a solid arm and he goes deep enough to cash the prop here.
Noah Cameron, Royals Over 18.5 Outs Recorded (+129, DraftKings)
Cameron pitched well of late for the Royals after a sluggish start to the year. He is 8-8 with a 4.02 ERA, a 1.214 WHIP, 46 walks and 128 strikeouts over 143.1 innings of work on the year. Cameron logged at least six innings in 10 of his 25 outings (24 starts) this season. Meanwhile, he’s gone at least seven frames in four of his last six start. Facing a Blue Jays squad that is tied for 29th in the majors with 3.93 runs per game, he works deep here. Take the over on his outs prop in the contest.
