MLB Home Run Props and Predictions Today: Top Player Props for Sept. 8

Tuesday’s MLB home run props feature two young catchers in fantastic matchups. I’m also fading Corbin Burnes in his return to the mound, where workload concerns could make a low strikeout line difficult to clear. Let’s get into my best MLB home run props and player props for Tuesday, Sept. 8!

MLB Home Run Props Today for Sept. 8

We’ll start in Detroit, where the Tigers host the Minnesota Twins at 6:40 p.m. ET. Dillon Dingler to hit a home run on DraftKings Sportsbook is my favorite MLB home run pick today as he faces Twins right-hander Dean Kremer.

This is the same matchup I targeted a few days ago when he wasn't in the lineup, and I’m going right back to it. The Tigers catcher is enjoying a true breakout season from a power perspective. He has 26 home runs and ranks in the 88th percentile in launch-angle sweet-spot rate (according to Baseball Savant), while also grading out as borderline elite in expected slugging percentage and expected batting average.

The most important angle here is Dingler’s reverse-split power. He has hit 22 of his 26 home runs against right-handed pitching and owns a .512 slugging percentage in the split. Kremer has been crushed by right-handed hitters, allowing a .235 ISO against them this season.

Dingler has been one of the better righty-vs-righty power hitters in baseball, while Kremer has consistently failed to keep righties from lifting the ball and doing damage. The Twins right-hander enters with a 5.81 ERA, so there is little reason to overthink it.

MLB Home Run Predictions: Samuel Basallo

Next, we’ll head to Camden Yards, where the Baltimore Orioles host the Cleveland Guardians. Samuel Basallo to hit a home run on DraftKings is another MLB home run prop I’m backing Tuesday.

Tanner Bibee gets the ball for Cleveland, and it has been a disappointing couple of seasons for the right-hander. He does not profile as a disastrous pitcher, but he's given up some power. Bibee does not keep the ball on the ground, struggles to get hitters to chase, does not strike out as many hitters as expected, and gives up an above-average amount of barrels and hard contact.

Bibee has been especially vulnerable to left-handed hitters, who have tagged him for 20 home runs this season. That is perfect for Basallo, who owns a .234 ISO against right-handed pitching. He ranks well above league average in bat speed and barrel rate, which is exactly what I want to see from a home run target.

Basallo has hit 15 of his 17 home runs this season against righties. His power profile continues to play, and this is a perfect matchup to back him against a vulnerable right-hander.

MLB Strikeout Props Today: Corbin Burnes

For my MLB strikeout prop today, I’m taking Corbin Burnes under 3.5 strikeouts on DraftKings.

This is primarily a workload play. Burnes is making his 2026 MLB debut after missing significant time. He threw only 64.1 innings in 2025, and right now, the 31-year-old has not built up a normal starter’s workload.

Burnes averaged just under one strikeout per inning last year, so under 3.5 strikeouts makes a lot of sense.

Arizona should have every incentive to protect Burnes rather than let him work deep into a September start. Even if he looks sharp, I would expect a cautious pitch count and limited innings.

At -130, I’m willing to bet on him just going out there to knock off some rust. Burnes does not need to pitch poorly for this under to cash. He simply may not get enough chances to record four strikeouts.
